~Yeah, so the pic is what Isi looks like. Just not as innocent. But that's like his hairstyle and eye color and stuffs...~
I groaned as I plopped down onto my bed, exhausted. Why did I have to work a double shift tomorrow? Couldn't I just die instead? I hate that stupid maid cafe... It's so quiet, and formal! The only distraction I have is my friend Quin, the only guy there (well, he is gay), who is so full of himself he makes the job fun.
My inner ranting was interrupted as my phone vibrated. "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST DIE?!?!" I screamed at it before checking my messages.
From: (XXX) XXX-XXXX (Isi's number)
Are you busy tomorrow? it read. I sighed, knowing who it was.
Yeah I have to work. Why?
The reply came fast.
You? A job? Wow.
Shut the hell up, Hayayaka. What the hell do you want?
To work on the project, idiot. Do you even have a brain in that thick head of yours?
Do you want to work on it by yourself? Because if you keep this up asshole I won't help at all.
Okay I'm done. When is your next day off?
Sunday
I'm free too. Do you want to work on the project then?
Sure. Where and what time?
Noon at the park on Makiba Drive
Yeah. Okay.
Don't forget that stupid folder
I won't Douchebag. Will you leave me alone already?
Don't call me that.
Leave me alone!!!!!
No.
Okay I just won't text you then.
Yes you will.
I sat down my phone on the bed in front of me, out of my reach, but close enough to see if he texted me again. He did.
Hisami.
What the hell?
Dammit Hisami text me back.
God dammit Hisami!!!
Hisami
Bitch.
I laughed and got up off my bed, heading towards the bathroom to take a shower. I wonder how many messages I'll have by the time I get out...
After shower...
I laughed out loud. "Ten messages?!" I slided the little unlocking thing and typed in my password. Then I tapped on Messages.
Hisami answer me you bitch.
Dammit you fucking bitch answer me. We can work on the stupid project over the phone too, you know?!
Dammit
Text
Me
Back!!!!!
Okay fucking really?
Dammit I hate you.
Hisami.
Hisami!!!
I laughed and typed in an innocent 'What?'
I was thinking about murdering you.
Sorry I was in the shower.
I'm going to call you.
No!
Why not?
I don't want your ass calling me. Especially since you called me bitch multiple times.
I'm calling you anyway.
Fine. Whatever.
I had just set the phone down when it vibrated. I didn't bother picking it up as I answered it and put it on speaker. "What?" I said, standing up.
There was a sigh. "You're such a bitch."
"Answer the question Hayayaka or I'm hanging up on your ass."
"Fine. Do you want to work on the project now?"
"No. I want to sleep. I'm working a double tomorrow."
"Oh my god..." he muttered. "Look, I have the chorus to the opening done. Can't you just sit and listen for five damn minutes?"
I sighed. "Fine."
"Okay." There was movement. "You tell a fucking soul I can sing and I'll kill you. Got that?"
"Yeah. Okay."
Some more movement. Then, when I heard what came from the other end of the line, my eyes widened.
"Why give up?
Why give in?
It's not enough.
It never is.
I will go on until the end.
We've become
Desolate
It's not enough
It never is
I will go one until the end."
(Until the End Breaking Benjamin)
"Wow," I said.
"It's only the chorus. I'll have more by Sunday."
"Okay."
"Hisami." My mom opened the door. "Dinner's ready, honey."
"Okay. I'll be down in a minute."
"Okay, baby." My mom smiled at me, and then shut the door.
"I gotta go," I told Isi.
"Yeah. Bye."
"Bye." And I hung up the phone.
Isi POV
I sighed and looked down at the phone in my hands. Well, at least I got to see her Sunday.
I'd liked Hisami since elementary school. But... she's always hated me. So I return the favor. I mess with her stuff, call her horrible names, and even trip her going down the hallways. I feel horrible every time...
I almost told her the other day in the hallway... It was already a leap, pinning her against the wall like that. I know it freaked her out. I am so goddamn stupid!
Someone knocked on the door. "Isi?" came my mom's voice. "You packed?"
"Yeah," I said, sighing. Mom opened the door and smiled apologetically at me.
"I'm sorry. But it's a mandatory trip."
"To Fiji?"
"Yes."
I scoffed. "Whatever."
"You're brother's going to take you out tomorrow so your father and I can... have some alone time."
"You'll be alone for four months in Fiji!"
The woman glared playfully at me. "It's more fun in the safety of my house."
"Okay, Mom! Please get out of my room."
She left the room, giggling like a little girl.
I sighed and put an arm over my face. She said who I was going to stay with had a daughter my age... Tch. With my luck, it's probably Rina Daisuke. Greeaat.
Hisami POV
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"Isi getting to you again?"
I turned to look at the owner of the familiar voice. "Yes. Oh my god, Quin, we have to work on that stupid project together! Ugh, it's horrible!"
Quin laughed. "Listen, Mimi, you can't let him get to you."
"I know," I pulled my shirt off, unfazed by his presence, "but he's such a jackass. If he calls me a bitch one more time I'm gonna rip his damn hair out of his pale head!" I stuffed my shirt and shorts into my locker and violently pulling my uniform on.
Quin laughed. "Was he that bad yesterday?"
"YES!"
He laughed again. "Well, just be glad you're friends with my sexy ass."
"Oh, yeah," I said sarcastically. "You're so much better." I stood on my toes to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you." he said with a smile.
"That was sarcasm, dumbass."
"Was it? I can hardly tell with you anymore."
"Haha. Just go to your section!" I pushed him out the door and put my headband in my hair. Time to get to work...
I walked out and picked up a tray before walking up to the first table. "Ohayo, Masuta!" I said, pasting a smile on my face. "What would you like today?"
"Can I get some strawberry cheesecake? I'd really love some before I go to work. "
"Hai, Masuta! Would you like a beverage?"
"No, thank you."
"Okay! I will be back with your order in just a few moments!" I quickly handed the order to the chef through the window and made my way to the next table.
"Ohayo, Masuta! What would you like--Kuro!" I said, my eyes lighting up. "Hey! What brings you here today?"
"My parents wanted me to occupy my brother." The dark haired boy smiled.
"You brought your younger brother to a maid cafe?"
"Yep. I'm nice like that."
"How old is he?"
"Your age, I think."
"Oh. I wonder if I've met him."
"Maybe. He goes to your school."
"Really? That's so cool! So. Your order, Masuta?"
"One plain cheesecake for me and a tomato sandwich for my brother."
"Sandwich? So early?"
"Yeah."
"Um, okay. I'll be back with your order soon!" I practically ran to grab the strawberry cheesecake. I'm so glad I only had two customers...
When I walked back to Kuro's table, his brother still wasn't there. "Where's your brother, Kuro-chan?"
"He's in the bathroom trying to avoid someone in Quin's section. She just paid so he should be coming out soon."
"Great. I can't wait to meet him."
"It's really calm today isn't it?"
"Yeah. Maybe because of the festival...?"
"And you're working a double shift... why?"
"More money."
"Oh, well that makes--"
"Hisami?" I jumped at the familiar voice, turning slowly.
"Douchebag?" I gaped at Isi, who stood just a few feet away from me.
He smirked. "When you said you were working, I didn't know it'd be here, of all places."
"Shut your ass up."
"Why? You embarrassed?"
"N-N-No!" I bowed my head. "I'm not."
"Tch. Whatever." The smirk grew. "Aren't you supposed to say "Ohayo, Masuta"?"
"Shut up."
"Or "How may I help you, my king?""
"Shut. Up."
"Or "How may I serve you, Masuta? Can I help you with anything?" Oh, I can't believe this!"
"SHUT UP!!!"
The laughter immediately stopped when tears spilled over, my eyelashes no longer able to hold them in. A look of remorse took over Isi's features.
"Hisami, I--"
"Leave me alone." I pushed past him and into the breakroom, where I bumped into Quin, who took me by the shoulders.
"Mimi? Mimi, what's wrong?"
"I-I-I-Isi... H-He..." I couldn't say anything else. I was crying too hard.
"He's here?!" A look of rage took up his features. "That damn ass. I'll kill him." I tried to stop him, but my attempts were futile.
Quin POV
I came out of the breakroom furious. No one was ever allowed to make Mimi cry. Ever.
My eyes landed on the two dark haired males in Hisami's section. "Isi?"
He looked at me as I walked over to him, a smug look on his face.
That look vanished when I swung my fist and landed a punch in his gut.
