"What the hell are you doing here, douchebag?" I asked, glaring at the familiar teenager on my doorstep.
Isi frowned. "I'm supposed to be here, idiot," he said. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Oh my god." I put my head in my hands. "Please tell me your parents didn't go to Fiji."
"They did." I looked at him through my fingers. He had a horrible smirk on his face. I wanted to punch him. "Guess we're living together."
"Nope," I said. I gave him a sweet smile, then I slammed the door in his face.
"Dammit, Hisami! Let me in!" I locked the door. He jiggled the doorknob. "Hisami!!"
"What?" I asked innocently.
"Open. The. Door."
"Nope!"
"Dammit, it's gonna rain!"
"I don't care!" I plopped down on the couch, turning the TV on and putting the volume on 67. It might disturb the neighbors, but I don't really care. They would live.
~~~~~~~~
I jumped when a horrible BOOM filled my ears. I screamed and closed the blinds, turning the TV up louder. I caught a quick glimpse of some matted hair and soaking clothes in the middle of my yard. I bit my lip. It's probably cold out there... I shook my head. I can't let him in. He's a jackass...
BOOM!!!!!
"AAH!" I screamed, diving behind the couch. I pulled my knees up to my chest.
My phone vibrated. I looked down at it.
From: Douchebag
Hisami, can you please let me in?
I grabbed my phone, my hands shaking.
Csnt opem diir sjaling ti mych
What?
I took a deep breath.
Sorry. I'm shaking. A lot.
Ha! Are you scared?
No!! Maybe...
Hahaha! That's priceless!
It doesn't really sound like you want to come in...
No! No! Yes. I want to come in. Open the door. Please.
I stood and made my way to the door. When I opened it, a drenched Isi stood there, phone in hand. It was awkward, him standing there, looking like a drenched cat...I kinda felt... bad. AGH! CURSE YOU CONSCIENCE!!!
"Come on," I said, turning and walking away from him. I heard him shuffle in and close the door.
"I could get pneumonia..." he mumbled.
"Yeah..." I said nonchalantly, glancing out the window as a flash of lightning lit up the sky. One... Two... Three...
BOOM!!!!!
I screamed, slamming my palms over my ears. Tears stung my eyes.
"Wow. You weren't kidding. You really are afraid of thunder."
"Shut up..." Another flash. One... Two...
BOOM!!!!!
I jumped. The tears threatened to spill. "Please... stop..." I sat down on the couch. "Just stop..."
Isi POV
I looked at Hisami, trying to figure out what to do. I couldn't just hug her, she hated me. But... I hated to see girls cry. Especially this one...
"Hisami...?" I sat down on the couch beside her. "Are you--"
BOOM!!!!
Her arms wrapped around me, and she dug her face into my chest. "Make it stop!!" I sighed, wondering what I could do.
I remembered that I had noise-cancelling headphones in my bag. I turned and picked it up, rummaging through it, trying to find my IPod. When my fingers closed around something cold and square-like, i pulled my hand out, my headphones and IPod both coming out.
"Hisami..." She pulled away, glancing at what I had in my hands. "These cancel the noise around you. You can listen to whatever you want on my IPod, and you won't be able to hear the thunder."
She looked back at the technology in my hands, reaching for it. I handed it to her, smiling a little. She reminded me of a little kid...
"Thank you..." she said, before she put the headphones on and started the music. Once the song came on, she sat back, closing her eyes.
"You're welcome," I said, though I knew she couldn't hear me. I was so glad she'd stopped crying...
Sorry it's so short!!! It wouldn't be, but one of my friends was pestering me about it. Sorry for slow updates!! I'll update another chapter soon. Maybe. Byee~~~
