A/N: Hi, I started writing this fanfiction in January of 2022 so kuru neko, penalteam and the finale of s4 p1&2 hadn't come out yet so please keep that in mind. I have lots of ideas that I know wouldn't be implemented into the actual show because of the nature of it but I wanted to write about it and share and explore some ideas. For reference, I have aged them up to around 16 so that the ideas I have could work with the plot more. If you have cool ideas you would like to see in this, let me know and I hope you like it!
(Also this contains season 4 spoilers!)

~Saturday, 3rd of June~She never expected to see Paris quite like this again.
Silent, devastated and unrecognisable. There she stood, looking out onto what was once a busy, bustling city, speechless on the summit of Montparnasse Tower. No words could even begin to describe this feeling welling up inside of her in the form of a tight, painful knot as her gaze lingered on the expanse of the familiar destruction. She couldn't move, she didn't dare. The all-too-familiar, overwhelming fear manifested itself as a feeling of sickness in the pit of her stomach. A chilling breeze brushed past her, stinging her face and causing the hairs on the back of her neck to prickle. Eiffel lay defeated on its side and most building submerged in a body of water that extended as far as the eye could see.The silence was broken when a nearby shuffle caught her attention and a leaden feeling of dread formed in her chest. Quickly turning around, she was confronted by two steely blue eyes inches from her face. The icy eyes that had permanently burned themselves into her memory. They were reminiscent of Chat Noir's, except no amount of searching the gaze that remained fixed on her communicated any of his warmth.
"Marinette? You came back, I thought I'd lost you!" He said, crouching down and encircling her on all fours. His face bore an almost predatory look, like at any moment, unprovoked, he could turn.
"No...no this is just a dream," she muttered quietly, slowly backing away whilst keeping her vision fixed on the ghostly figure drawing nearer. She pulled her arms close to her chest, clasping her hands tightly around them in an effort to wake up from what had to be some sick nightmare.
Chat Blanc halted his advance, dispassionately examining his white-gloved hand. "I missed you so much M'lady, now you're back you can help me fix everything."
"No, I- I already did. I already fixed everything, I cleansed your akuma Kitty." A whisper is all she could manage as her throat constricted in sheer terror. She felt her eyes brim with tears as she dug her nails into the exposed skin of her arm. "You shouldn't be here Chat, like this, Paris shouldn't be destroyed and this wasn't supposed to happen again!" Her voice raised in the realisation of what had transpired again.
The one thing she had vowed to never allow to occur again. Never again. Somewhere along the line she must've given in and dared to explore the extent of her once purposely shrouded sentiments for Chat Noir.
"It was our love that did this to the world," he said, still edging closer with an indecipherable expression on his abnormally pale face.
"It was our love that did this to the world," he repeated. She took another step back only for the heel of her ballet flat to clip the wall of the building. He was now only centimetres away. She gripped the wall ledge and leaned slightly backwards if only to put more space between her and his person.
"Our love, our love, our love, our love."It felt as if the world was spinning. His words echoed in an unnerving cacophony until everything went black. The echoes were drowned out by a deafening silence. She abruptly sat up right, ears ringing, eyes wide and heart rapidly beating in her mouth. Steadying her breaths she ran her hand down her face in relief.
"Marinette! Are you okay?" A voice she was well acquainted to came from beside her. As she gained more consciousness, her vision began to clear, making it apparent that she was sat in her bed. Alya was sat beside her, her hand on her shoulder causing Marinette to sigh in pure relief.
Marinette stared blankly at her, her skin flushed and fringe plastered to her forehead. She breathed a deep sigh of what seemed to be alleviation and flopped back down onto her pillow, eyes screwed shut.
