Sasha and I are neighbors, so we always walk together after school every day while the others take the bus. In fact, that's how I met her. I remember it like it was yesterday. Sasha and her family had just moved into the neighborhood and like with all neighbors my mom made me go knock on the door and give them an apple pie with my adorable little girl smile. Around this time, I was about seven years old. When the door opened a shy girl with beautiful brown curls and a blue dress appeared.
"Hi, I'm Rosalind. My mom baked you a pie; welcome to the neighborhood!" I smiled.
"Hi," she whispered as she quickly grabbed the pie and slammed the door.
I found the encounter a bit weird, but I shrugged it off. The next day I went to school per usual and sat with Leo and Josh, but I noticed that Sasha was sitting alone at lunch so, I approached her.
"Hi, I'm Rosalind. we met yesterday; I'm sorry but I didn't get your name," I said.
"It's Sasha," she whispered.
"Sasha, would you like to sit with us?" I asked.
"Sure," she whispered.
And so, I introduced her to the guys and the rest is history. Though Sasha can be a little shy now and then when it comes to group presentations and strangers, she isn't with us, and we love her for it.
