Hello, nation; this year marks the 20th anniversary of my five best friends' passing. I lost my friends at such a young age due to this country's policies. We as a people lost five beautiful lives due to a childish mistake. Now, today marks the 5th anniversary since this nation has abolished the death penalty and I am glad that we as a nation and people have grown from our mistakes and are looking forward to a bright future.
