"I'll see you tomorrow night," I wave before entering my house.
"See you later," Sasha replies.
Finally, home sweet home. As soon as I greet my mom and dad, I make my way upstairs and collapse on my bed. Ugh, I have so many thoughts about college, this summer, my friends, and what just happened today on my walk home. I remember the story Leo told Sasha, Josh, and me about his mom and how she died. His mom immigrated to our country illegally with him when he was three. And when she was caught, she was executed for her crime by public hanging. Leo, on the other hand wasn't since our country has a strict policy to not harm children under the age of 14. So, Leo was put in foster care where he was eventually adopted by a kind couple that wanted a child. When I think back to the story it makes my brain hurt and my heart ache all at the same time. I wonder what it's like for Leo.
