It has been almost 4 years since the incident at the Bakers house. You were older now, just barely a teenager but not much had changed. Well with you at least. You walked with a bit of a limp now because of your previously infected leg. You had PTSD and nightmares. It was a frequent thing that occured and your mom was good at comforting you. She was still your best friend, in fact your relationship even got stronger after the incident in Dulvey. But then she got pregnant and things took a turn. You never really wanted a sibling. Your mom was your person, what happened when she became someone else's? Outbursts, outbursts happened. You now were the typical moody teenager. It might sound selfish but you didn't want to share. After the incident Chris moved you to a small village in Europe. Your mom had Rose and things had gotten even worse. You didn't sleep, you barely ate. Your trauma got to you every night and your parents could no longer comfort you. And these past few weeks your mom wasn't herself. She was snippy and she just didn't feel right. I guess that could be because of Rose but you weren't sure. Your parents were fighting a lot recently. You just stayed in your room and out of the way. You were currently in your room drumming on your desk chair to some music. You heard a knock and saw your dad with your sister. "Hey, I'm putting Rose down for the night. Dinner is almost ready, and yes you have to eat" he said and then walked away. You put your drumsticks down and went downstairs. You kept one of your earbuds in, you were listening to Panic! At The Disco right now. You sat on the couch and you saw your mom in the kitchen. It was weird because she looked and sounded like your mom, but she didn't feel like her. You just shrugged your shoulders at the thought and picked up the book they were most likely reading to Rose. 'Village Of Shadows'. It was an older book and you flipped it open to a random page. It looked interesting enough but weird to read it to a baby. Your dad walked down the stairs and said "y/n no headphones at the dinner table please". "We're not at the dinner table yet" you said and huffed. He gave you a death glare and you took them out and took your place at the table. Your dad then went into the kitchen and up to your mom. "Is she ok?" your mom asked. "Sleeping like a...well, like a baby" your dad replied. You were getting bored of listening to their conversation so you just started drumming on the table with your fingers. Your parents joined you and you were too busy making a new beat to realize they were having a conversation. You sat next to your dad, usually it would be next to your mom but well yeah things weren't so peachy between you two anymore. Your dad sat down and grabbed your hands to stop you. You noticed the wine and said "can I have some?". "No!" your parents said in unison. You just shrugged and laid your head back. "Ethan, you really have to stop worrying" your mom turned her attention towards him. "It's just... Finding you in Louisiana, the pregnancy, Chris moving us here, military training it all happened so fast, you know?" he said. You looked back towards them and got a little nervous at where this conversation was going. You looked over as your mom said "well, at least we're all together. You, me, y/n, rose. Now everything's going to be--" she said but then got cut off by your dad. "Seriously? You think we can just forget about what happened in Louisiana?" he said as you started tapping your leg nervously. "It happened so long ago. I just-- I don't understand why you are so" is all she could get out before you heard a noise and saw blood splatter. "Mom?" you whispered. "Mia, y/n get down!" your dad said. The lights went off and then you saw your mom get blasted with shots. Tears flowed down your face. Your dad shoved you down behind the table. You both made eye contact with your mom's dead body. Your dad screamed words you couldn't hear from your pounding heart in your ears. Suddenly the table was removed and you looked up and saw Chris. You were in shock, you couldn't move and you couldn't think. He shot your mom a couple more times and that did it for you. You turned into fight mode and picked up a chair and bashed it across Chris's body. You tried to punch him but he quickly overpowered you. One of his soldier guys kept your arms behind your back. You squirmed and wiggled but it was no use. They had your dad and Rose too. They now were dragging you out of the dining room and you just looked back at your mom and cried. "Mom! No let me go. I'll kill you, I'll fucking kill you!" you screamed trying to get back to your mom. The soldier tossed you on the ground and quickly punched you. You passed out with tears still on your face. When you opened your eyes your dad was next to you, trying to shake you awake. It was freezing and you quickly started shivering. You sat up and your dad helped you to your feet. "I don't know what's happening but we need to get to Rose" he said to you. "Is mom..?" you asked, not daring to finish that sentence. Your dad looked away and that gave you all the confirmation you needed. You put your head in your hands and started sobbing. Your dad hugged you tight and squeezed your shoulders. "We're going to get through this, we're going to get Rose and we're going to make it out of this" he said. You wiped your tears and nodded. Your dad turned his flashlight on and you followed him in what you thought was the right path. Your dad helped you through some barbed wire and accidentally cut himself a little bit but you kept on forward. You saw dead crows and blood and almost immediately thought back to Louisiana. You shook your head trying to shake those thoughts from your mind. There were tons of noises and growling and you were scared shitless. Soon you made it to a shack, it wasn't much warmer but at least out of the wind. You blew in your hands trying to warm them up a bit. You followed your dad to a staircase going down, you were getting bad vibes and really didn't want to go down there but you did. Down there all you saw was a cute little mouse, you named him Fred. Just as you were about to head back the way you came, a loud bang happened and you jumped. Back up the stairs a cabinet was now closing off the doorway. You had to squeeze through at the bottom. There was blood on the ground and you were getting a really bad feeling. When you got back on the other side you saw a huge hole in the wall and the sun was starting to rise. "What did all this?" you asked. Your dad looked back at you concerned. The hole in the wall lead you on a path. It got brighter and as it did you saw a big village in the distance, that's where the path you were on lead down to. "Where the hell are we?" your dad questioned out loud. You followed the path full of trees and sticks until you slid down a hill. At the bottom you came across a dead, clawed up horse which made your eyes tear up and you had to look away. You were brought to a house and you followed the path. There was a closed gate with a sign on it that says 'do not enter'. You followed the main path until you came to a house, your dad got a knife out of it. You were looking around the kitchen area when you hear a gunshot and looked over to see a person with a shotgun. "Agh! No, no! Friendly, friendly!" your dad screamed at the person. "Who are you? Who sent you?" the man asked backed. "Nobody! There was an accident, down on the road, and--" your dad was cut off by a horrible screeching noise. You went over to his side and the old man covered your dads mouth. You covered your own because it seemed like the right thing to do. The noise passed and then the man said "oh no. They're coming!". "Who is? What the hell was that?" your dad questioned as he moved you behind him. "Do you have a gun?" the old man questioned, ignoring your dad's. "What?" your dad asked back shocked. "Please tell me you have a gun!" he said. "No, why would I?" your dad asked. The old man grabbed a pistol and handed it to your dad, "it's all I can spare. Take it! Take it!". Your dad kept you behind him and loaded the gun, "tell me what's out there" he said. When your dad was trying to get his attention, the old man was taken by something that bust through the ceiling. His blood started dripping down and you were getting flashbacks to Dulvey. Just then your dad was grabbed from something that came through the floor boards. You went over to him and tried to pull him loose but all you managed to do was pull yourself down with him. Your dad turned his flashlight on and all you saw was dead bodies. Tons and tons of dead bodies. You walked along trying to find a way out when a werewolf looking thing popped out of nowhere and took a chomp out of your dad's hand. You rushed him and tackled him like a football player, he hit you with his claws and you went flying. Your dad came soon after and you were now outside. He was missing some of his fingers and your cheek was clawed to shit. You could taste your own blood from inside your mouth. You spit some of it out and then stood up. You helped your dad to his feet and he took out his pistol and shot the monster until it was dead. "Oh God this can't be happening again" you said and took a deep breath. "Fuck" your dad said and looked at his bleeding stubs. 3 years ago, on that morning you thought it was over, when you moved to Europe you thought it was over, last night at dinner you thought it was over, but boy were you so very wrong.
