Chapter 12: Dolls Are Officially Creepy

(a/n - soooo idk why, I must have just had a brain lapse but I'm pretty sure I've been referring to Angie as Donna, so if I've made that mistake in previous chapters I'm sorry! Sometimes I just forget they aren't like the same lol)

You shot the lock off the doors outside and went through. You dropped down into an underground path that had torches lighting it up. You went through a puddle of water and then up a staircase when you heard a voice. Your dad was behind you when you went through a wooden door. You saw the old lady, she was saying some sort of chant or some crazy witch thing. Your dad went up to her and said "hey, remember us? We almost died up in that castle. Tell me what is going on around here?". "How can a man be "almost" dead? That's a question for the wise" she replied. "You know what I mean. And I still haven't found Rose. Where did Mother Miranda take her?" he asked. She laughed in his face and said "you're too late! Or maybe..."almost" too late? The child will be sacrificed. Life for life". "What kind of sick medieval shit is this? She's just a baby!" he said. "The crests of the four bloodlines may open the path you seek..." she said as she pointed to the crests on the wall. "Will you please stop talking in riddles? I just want to find my daughter" he said desperately. "It's only a riddle if you don't know the answer" she said and then walked off. Your dad took the winged key and used it to get you through the next doors. You walked up some steps and pulled a gate open. You were now outside in some sort of ceremony site looking thing. You walk down some stairs and across a bridge. You take care of some lycans and then open a big pair of wooden doors. It looked like another sort of ceremony place and then you saw the duke. "Ah y/n, glad you're back. Mr Winters, there you are. I had a feeling you would pop up here" he said as he sat in his cart. "It was all worthless" your dad said angrily. You stood off to the side, just listening in. "Is that so? I assume you've picked up something of value" the Duke answered. "Not sure if it's of value, but..." your dad said and held up the yellow flask. "Why, you have your daughter right in your own hands" the Duke said and you became shocked. "What are you saying?" you asked. "Ethan, take a closer look" he answered. You went over to your dad as he wiped off some gunk and dust, the flask was labeled "Rosemary W. Head". He dropped the flask and you caught it, looking at it more intensely. "That flask seems to contain her head" the Duke explained. Your dad started freaking out and took the flask from your hands. "Her essence is still intact. Her powers are truly unique" the Duke said. "Powers?" you whispered. "Who -- who could even do this?" your dad questioned. "She can be saved ya know?" the Duke said nonchalantly. "Saved? From this? Are you insane?!" your dad started freaking out again. "There's a house with a red chimney on the western side of the village. Go and seek out the man who lives there. Then we can continue our conversation" he says. You push your dad away as he gets pissed and walks towards the Duke saying "quit holding out and get to the damn point!". "You don't have to trust my words, but do you have any better options? *Long pause* Your choice. The customer is always right, after all" the Duke says. "You'll pay if I find out this is a lie" your dad says venomously. The Duke laughs a hearty laugh and your dad mutters "fucking joker...!". "Dad would you just fucking chill, he's trying to help!" you say and push him towards the gate door. He unlocks it and then shoots the lock off of the red doors. You walk down the path and soon find that you're in the main part before you went into the castle. You go around the village fighting lycans until you make it to the house with the red chimney. When you get inside there's a lycan that you quickly take care of. Your dad finds a piece that he combines with the winged key to give it more wings. You quickly head back to the Duke. "How was it? Did you learn anything?" he asked once he saw you two. "I found these feathers. Now tell me how to fix this like you said you would" your dad answers, a little agitated. "Settle down. First you must use that key and collect all of your little Rose's flasks" the Duke answers. "Where are the rest of them?" you ask curiously. The Duke begins to explain, "there are four in total. You have the one, and the other lords have the rest". "Lords?" you ask. "Mother Miranda is the cold, calculating ruler of this village. Four lords serve under her. The first you've already met, the lady Dimitrescu. The second lives deep in a valley of mist, the doll maker Donna Beneviento. None of her playmates have ever come back from that dank, old estate. The third is Moreau, a being of twisted flesh that lives in the reservoir past the windmills. It's said that he is not the only monster that lives in those waters. The fourth and most dangerous is Heisenberg. He works in his factory on the village outskirts. And the project? Let's just say parts of the human imagination are better left alone. If you truly wish to see Rose, you must first gather the four flasks. I'll do you a personal favor. I've marked the Lords' locations on your map. Some treasures still lurk in this village. I'm sure each one will prove of great use to you". "Why are you doing all this?" your dad asks. "Why it's all part of our first class customer service. Please do come again soon..." the Duke finishes talking to you. "Thanks Duke" you say and then go over to another set of big double doors that the wing key you currently possess will open. You walked up a snowy path and saw just how misty it was. You came to a big tree with a grave and you saw dolls hanging from it. You felt a shiver down your spine as you saw the dolls. Soon you made your way to a bridge. You held onto the sides tightly as you passed it. You got to a gate that opened itself. You saw your mom standing there, she whispered your dad's name. You stepped in front of your dad and she looked at you. "My little y/n" she said and tears came to your eyes. "What?" your dad said. "Ethan! Y/n! Come with me. There's something I have to tell you" she says and walks away, disappearing. "Mom?" you ask. "What's going on?" your dad asks. After a few steps forward she popped up again, "Rose feels...different. Ethan, you have to fix her...". "What the hell is this?" your dad questioned. You were wondering the same exact thing. A few more steps and there she was again, "everyone leaves me...even Rose... I don't want to be alone". "You're not alone!" you shouted as she disappeared again. You kept walking until you made it to a big grave, tinier graves decorated the space near it. Dolls sat on the bigger grave. The grave read '-- a Beneviento 1987 - 1996'. You turned and saw a door with a slot to put things in it. On the wall next to it there was a golden plate that said 'give up your memories'. You were confused but your dad figured it out and put the picture of you, your mom and Rose in it. The door then opened and you walked in and saw an elevator with candles around it. "Memories" you sighed and muttered. Your dad pressed the button and you both got in. You pressed the up button and it brought you upwards, the lights flickered a bit but then came back on. "I wish I had my phone to play some elevator music" you joked a little. "Not funny" your dad said sternly. "What is wrong with you? We joked around when we were at the Bakers house. So what happened to you?" you asked him. He sighed and looked at you with sharp eyes. You rolled yours and kept your distance from him. When the elevator stopped you felt a cold wind and walked outside. You were along the cliff side and saw a big house staring back at you. The gate was open and you walked through it and up onto the porch, opening the door. It was warmly lit in there and it reminded you of a log cabin. You walked through a couple of rooms until you reached another elevator. This time it took you downwards. You got to a lower floor and then walked through the hallway until you reached a room with a doll sitting in a chair staring at you. The flask that held a part of Rose was taped to it and when your dad went to grab it the lights went out. It was pitch black and you heard Angie's voice say "I've been waiting for so long... I'd make a much better sister and daughter than Rose. Please won't you stay with me--forever?". She laughed and then the lights flicked back on. The doll, the flask, and your gun was gone, "wait, where's my gun?", and apparently so was your dad's. You saw a life sized doll on a table, it sort of looked like your mom. You then saw a bandage across her chest with a part of it being blood soaked. You then realized it was supposed to be your mom. She got shot in the same spot as this doll. Your dad noticed a ring on her ring finger and took it off, it had blood on it. You went over to the right arm and unscrewed it from the hinges, it had some sort of code in it. You went to the upper part of the arm and took off a compartment and a key fell out. You handed it to your dad and then a radio turned on. You heard your mom's voice, "woah, that's a kick! Can you believe it? S-She's so energetic, it's crazy!". You clenched your jaw shut. Your dad went to the right leg and took it off, he found a winding key inside. You took the picture next to the dolls face, it was of your dead mom. Tears streamed down your face and your dad took it from you. He put it in his jacket pocket and then went to the black door in the corner and opened it with the key you got from the arm. There was a sink and you took the ring from your dad and washed the blood off. On the inside there was a code '05 29 11'. "The code for the door is 05 29 11" you said to your dad. He went to the door and opened it. Your dad went to get the next part he needed for the puzzle. You stood there and looked at the doll of your mom. You heard your mom's voice "y/n". "M..mom?" you questioned. You turned around and saw your mom but she was bloody and looked almost like a zombie, she reached out to you and you fell backwards and hit the back of your head on the corner of the table. When you looked back the vision of your mom was gone and your dad came back with tweezers. "Y/n, you okay?" he asked you. "Uhm.. yeah I'm fine" you said and rubbed the back of your head, standing up. Your head was bleeding a bit but nothing bad. Your dad went to the mouth of the doll and opened it, he grabbed a roll of film. The lights flickered and the radio turned on again, you heard your mother's voice. "Oh god, no... I, I can't tell Ethan, anything but this" she said. Your dad went back out looking for the next piece. You were pretty sure all that was left was to find scissors. You went to the room with the sink and splashed some water on your face and then cleaned the back of your head. Your dad scared the crap out of you when he came through the door next to the sink. "Jesus Christ what the fuck?!" you said as you jumped back. "Found a different pathway, there's something else..." your dad said and looked down. "What is it?" you asked, looking at him curiously. "The phone rang, it was your mom, b..but I don't know if it was real or not" he answered. Your dad walked past you and continued with the puzzle but you walked the way he came and looked at the phone. It rang and you tentatively took it. "H..hello..?" you whispered into the phone. You hear your mom's voice, she was crying "y/n/n, baby, no matter what happens I need you to forgive me okay? For all of it, I didn't mean to shut you out. You will always be my number one okay? I love you so much". You were now crying and you said back "I forgive you, I love you too". The line went dead and you put the phone down. You wiped your tears and joined back up with your dad. He had just gotten some sort of medallion. You were standing next to him when the radio turned on again. "Rose... Y/n..." your mom said and started crying. You followed your dad down the hallway and came to a door that had two medallions in it. Your dad put the third one in and remembered the code on the dolls arm, he put it in and the door opened. You went down a long stone stairwell. You came to a dark well with a ladder, your dad went down it and you stayed there, looking down at him. "Find anything?" you shouted down to him and it echoed. "Just a breaker box key, I'm not sure what that's for yet" he said back and climbed back up. You then heard a baby's cry. You went back up the stairs and to the main part of the room. The crying stopped and the lights were off and replaced with a red light. The radio turned on again and your mom said "it'll be fine. It'll be fine. It'll be fine. It'll be fine. It'll be fine. It'll be fine". She had shaky breaths and then it shut off. You walked down the hallway, following a blood pattern until a big, wet, goopy monster turned the corner and saw you. It slowly crawled after you and cried like a disturbed baby. You ran and so did your dad, you followed him back the way you came and past where the phone was. You went back to the elevator and your dad opened the breaker box and found some sort of figure, kind of like a medallion. You followed him to a door and he put the figure into the door and it unlocked. The hallway inside was lit up and felt safer for a few seconds. You went through the door and into a kitchen area, which then lead you to a bedroom. You saw a wide open breaker box and took the fuse inside of it for the elevator. Just then the lights shut off and your dad turned on his flashlight. You went back through the kitchen and when you got to the stairs the baby monster rammed through the doors and started laughing or crying, you weren't really sure. "Oh shittttt!" you said and ran fast back to the bed. You both got under it, trying to hide from the monster. You waited for it to get to the other side of the room and then got out from under the bed and booked it back to the elevator. It was chasing after you and you quickly put the fuse in and slammed the elevator button. It was then right behind you, "fuck hurry the fuck up" you said as you slammed on the elevators button. It opened just in time and you both got in and your dad quickly closed it as the monster reached you. It screamed and cried in your face with it's gaping mouth. You were glued to the back of the elevator with a look of terror on your face. Both you and your dad took deep breaths when you got back to the upper floor and that monster could no longer get to you. When you walked out of the elevator you heard Angie's laugh. You went back to the main part of the house. Donna showed up and said "don't leave...I can't let you...". Angie appeared and said "ooh, you're still alive, huh? You better find me quick, before my friends murder you! Tick-tock! Your life's on the line!". She then flew away and your dad got up angrily saying "wait!". You found her upstairs in a room on the floor. She flew up to your dad and said "everything would be better is Rose wasn't born". You shrugged and thought "yeah I kind of actually agree with you". Your dad then called her a monster and stabbed her with the scissors. She actually started bleeding and then flew off. You found her again in the room on the left of the kitchenish area. Your dad grabbed her and stabbed her in the head again and she screamed and pushed your dad to the ground. "You do this to Rose too?" she asked sarcastically. You followed her to the main hallway and your dad grabbed her head again. "You are never going to get out of here!" she said and then was stabbed again. "Stupid idiot! What are you doing to my cute friends!?" she said and then was stabbed one last time before dying in a pool of her own blood. Everything went white and when reality came back Donna was on the ground, dead, next to Angie. What happened to lady D happened to them and then your dad saw the key in the rubble. "Mia... I'll make things right" he whispered to himself. You then saw the flask pop up next to the door and you went over and grabbed it. "It's her legs" you said and handed it to your dad. He had a disgusted look on his face as he took it. "That makes two..." he says and then opens the door. You made your way to a ceremony site. You took a well needed breather to let everything that happened set in. "Y/n, I think the flasks go in here" your dad said and looked at the stand in the middle. It had a familiar symbol on it. "Yeah, probably so" you said and looked down at it. "you should hold onto them until we get them all though, just in case. Come on, let's go back and see the Duke" you said and walked towards the main area where he was. You now were halfway done, only two more to go. Then you could get this shit show over with and go on to whatever life awaited for you.
