I stare at the two. Nobody shipped Brayden and Gwen except me. Why did no one want them together?
A voice interrupts my thoughts. "Hey, Pickles."
I turn and smile. My best friend ever, Straub. Mitchell was his real name, but just like I did, he went by a funny nick name.
"Oh hey." I smile.
"So, Pickles. We made it. We are done with school for now." He chuckles.
"I guess. Until I go to college in August. Have you figured out where you're going yet?" I ask.
"Pickles, we've discussed this. School isn't my thing. I can't do anymore." He sighs.
I nod. He hugs me.
"Pickles, on a completely different subject are you going to Will's party? Cause if you aren't maybe we could go together. As just friends, of course." He blushes.
It was hard not to love him. Short light brown hair. Perfect, straight, white teeth. Perfect hazel like eyes.
"Pickles?" His voice interrupts my thoughts.
"Oh sorry. I'd love to go with you. In a completely just friends way." I feel my ears start to heat up.
"I'll pick you up around 7." He smiles and walks back to his group of friends.
I turn and go to my family. My parents were divorced, but at events like mine they tried to always support me and get along.
They're talking about the college I was going to, Stanford. My dad thought it was great and so did my mom. The only thing they agreed on. But now my grandparents on my dads side didn't agree with it. I roll my eyes and listen.
"Pickles!" My friend Maddy calls to me.
I smile to my family and walk over to her.
"Dude, you and Straub. Ship it! And I mean girl everyone is talking about you guys. I hope you're coming over to my house for the party."
Maddy and Will were twins and although I hated Will I knew I had to go for all my other friends.
"Of course. You know I wouldn't miss it. But isn't Will throwing it and calling it his?" I ask.
"Well ya. Because if they knew it was both of us, we'd be screwed. But Will's willing to take all the blame. Because if they find out I was apart of it well I wouldn't be able to go to Harvard. And well we all know Will's going no where." She laughs.
"Of course. I'll see you there." I smile.
She hugs me and walks over to another friend, giggling.
Maybe she only shipped Straub and I because I had the biggest crush on him, or maybe she just did. Who knows.
