"That's the last straw young lady! I'm sending you to boarding school in England." My Dad pulled me away from my friends on the sidewalk, recklessly drinking vodka, as they giggled and watched me get pulled away by my vexed father - his face a deep red crimson shade and his mouth foaming in anger. Yanking my sequined dress below my mid thighs for decency, I scoffed irritably and tugged my arm from his grip.

"Very funny Dad, you said that last time." I rolled my eyes, being pushed into the family car which had been frantically parked up on the road side.

"This time it's no joke Y/N." He growled in frustration, slamming his car door with a furious boom - one that was so loud I could have sworn it had dented it.

That was my last week in America and I would soon figure out the boarding school threat was indeed very real...

--

Driving hours through endless grassland, the airport we'd landed in felt like distant memory as the Rolls Royce growled across the layers of gravel beneath. The boarding school was located in the countryside, far from civilization and any kind of social life at all. Moody clouds of a pastel grey obscured the sky, feathers of precipitation falling in slow drops.

There it was, miserable and rich looking. Walls of a musty brown stone building with high aged windows and a courtyard that looked as if it could fit around 50,000 heads. My door was opened by a tall and ruddy-faced older lady around her mid 40s-50s. Her hair combed into a neat side bun and eyes sunken slightly by age. Her lips curled into an eager smile as I stepped out - disgusted by the sogginess of the air and ground beneath my feet.

"Good morning, you must be Y/N." She gushed, escorting me to walk with her into the courtyard. It was filled with flocks of muttering school girls - each of them in their own worlds and greeting each other politely.

"I'm Mrs. Lee, I'm the principal here at WillowOak All Girls private institution." She furthered, continuing to walk and present with her hands fondly. "May I ask if you were attending a private school beforehand?"

"I haven't been to school in 6 months." I replied watching her face drop in shock, almost stopping her tracks. She fixed the smile on her face, when I whipped my head around curiously, beginning to speak again softly.

"We can work around that. I truly think we can help you get back on the right path." She patted my back with a loose hand. I rolled my eyes with a heavy sigh and picked up my pace.

"Oh, here we are." She reached the corner of the courtyard where a group of girls were congregated, giggling between themselves. "Louise! Come here." She called a golden haired girl over from the group, the rest of them following behind with eager eyes.

"Louise, this is Y/N, she's from America and she'll be taking the spare bed in your group's dorm." Mrs Lee smiled with the top row of her teeth, glinting as Louise retuned the gesture.

"Welcome to WillowOak Y/N, I'm Louise but you can call me Lou. Captain of the Lacrosse team." She held her hand out leisurely, her eyes dropping slightly when she saw how I observed the hand she stuck out.

"Yeah, uhm Hi." I shook it lightly with a disgusting cringe glued to my face, what is this meeting the Queen?

"Charming first impression." One of the girls behind her rolled their eyes. All of their accents were extremely well-spoken British, the ones you expect hear in the Palace, not a Boarding school in the countryside.

"Don't worry Jasmine, she'll fit right in soon." Lou replied with a smug smile, as the other two stepped up to introduce themselves.

"I'm Minnie." A jet black haired girl smiled innocently, her eyes curling into two small crescents.
