"Hurry up Y/N, we're not meeting the Queen!" I heard Louise yell from the other side of the bathroom door. Carefully fixing my hair in the mirror, I wobbled a thin coat of mascara through my fine lashes."Who knows? Could bump into her on the sidewalk." I shouted back sarcastically, hearing Minnie giggle in amusement.
"Yeah right." Ashanti burst through the doorway impatiently, "Let's go, I bet Victoria Beckham takes less time than you to get dolled up." She grabbed my forearm and roped me out the bathroom. Her tidy and gold beaded cornrows bouncing against her prominent shoulder blades as she skipped out on to the hallway.
The entire year group were seemingly heading into town, as small clusters of girls gathered in the common area close to the entrance.
"Have a safe journey, as per usual girls! Coach Marian is supervising. I expect your best behavior as you are representing the school." Mrs Lee walked us outside, where a large, open-door, double decker bus awaited. The few gaggles of bickering girls clambered on, our group standing towards the back of the line. We soon realized that there were no more seats left, which is how I ended up sat on Shan's lap with my legs sprawled over Louise.
"I'll have you know, that is a safety violation." Amy yelled from across the seats, pointing towards us.
"Boohoo!" I yelled back sarcastically, the American accent jumping out in contrast to her snooty British tone.
"Coach! Tell her she can't come with us like that, she's risking all of our safety." Amy alerted Coach Marian from the front, who turned attentively.
"She has a point, please can you wait until next week's trip Y/N. I'm going to have to ask you to get off due to there being no seats left." Coach Marian sighed getting up to usher me off the bus.
"Don't have too much fun without me bitches!" I screamed up to the girls with a laugh as I stepped on to the ground. They returned a cackle, much to Amy's dismay as she attempted to provoke me.
"Need a lift?" A car pulled up beside the gravel, the beep of a low pitched horn sounding. There Juyeon was, the Headmaster's son in his open roof vintage green car. I smiled smugly, looking back up to the bus to see Amy's reaction. Her jaw hung open, her fists scrunched at her sides in ruthless envy.
"Actually yeah, I do." I smirked, getting in the passenger side - making sure his Mother or Matron wasn't around before I did.
Looking up to the girl's sat in the bus windows, I sent them a wink - Shan mouthing an 'Oh my Goodness' and Louise shaking her head proudly.
"No fraternizing Juyeon Lee! I'll be telling your Mother." Coach Marian declared down from the coach, Juyeon smirked back up to her with a sneer.
"So you want me to tell my Mother about your affair with our French teacher no?" He yelled back cockily, a shit-eating grin plastered to the defined sculpt of his jaw. A series of gasps echoed across girls in the bus, gossiping beginning almost instantly.
"No! You conniving little- you weren't meant to speak about that!" Her face turned tomato red, her brows knitting together in a mix of frustration and humiliation.
"Then I suggest you keep this to yourself." He snickered slightly, tapping against his steering wheel arrogantly.
Tires screeching and crunching against the gravel, the bus left first with the now chaos erupting over the sudden news Juyeon spilled. Rumbling grumpily, the engine began as he lifted the hand break.
"That was kinda badass, angel boy." I had my own overly confident toothy smile, my hair flying beside me in the wind.
"You'd be shocked love." He chuckled, waiting until the bus was far enough away to be separate from them .
"Can I ask you something Mr Juyeon Lee?" I peered over my shoulder to the aquatinted boy beside me and smiled. He hummed shortly in reply, signifying I could.
"Why are you so interested in me?" I boldly questioned him, since he kept appearing everywhere I went despite not being here for very long.
"Who said I was interested?" He retorted with a laugh, Ouch.
"Harsh. But you keep appearing everywhere I go and you even took the time to ask for my name." I rolled my eyes at the cockiness of the taller boy, watching his grip on the leather steering wheel loosen. Every now and then the car would stutter, as if it was in the wrong gear - however it wasn't it just that old.
"You fascinate me." He commented from nowhere in an enigmatic gaze across the tarred road ahead, his black hair sweeping in the manic gusts of wind.
"Is that so?" I raised a brow, returning the arrogant energy of the boy driving.
"Don't flatter yourself, I'm just intrigued." He rolled his eyes, smiling to himself idiotically,
"You know if you didn't have the attitude I'd probably be all over you." I scoffed, watching his jaw tighten in annoyance.
"I don't know what you mean." He replied with a shake of his head.
"Oh don't worry about it, your ego may be humongous but I'm aware it's very fragile." I scrunched my face sarcastically, giggling at my own joke as I watched him attempt not to be offended at the comment. His face softened as he let out a sudden boyish chuckle.
"You know what else is humo-" Before he could even begin, I cut him off in a snappy jolt.
"What music do you have?" I asked observing the lineup of CD's in the glove compartment, next to fitted in stereo.
"Do you know The Smiths? The Cure? Depeche Mode?" He asked as I flicked through the plastic boxes attentively.
"No." I chuckled watching him roll is eyes in reply, before taking one of the cases from my hand.
He was driving slowly, the roads we drove down were surrounded by fields of countryside and the sky obscured by that familiar light grey blanket of clouds.
He ejected another CD, before skillfully alternating them and putting in the one he selected.
"Do you know this one even?" He asked as a guitar chimed in the background.
"No." I chuckled as he looked taken aback by my lack of knowledge on alternative British music.
"How does someone live without listening to This Charming Man in their lifetime. You have to get better music taste." He used his finger to point at me, shaking it surely as his tongue poked his inner cheek. That was another thing, even their music was weird. Making the most of the journey, I looked out onto the countryside beside the car as it passed.
There was a small village in the distance, clearly compact and built up on one and other. The buildings appeared to be aged, incredibly rural but cozy at the same time.
"If you're not busy with your friends." Juyeon tapped is steering wheel again, as I turned to him attentively, "Would you like me to show you around this place instead?"
