Y/N POV

Cramming into one of the small parking spaces, the car lot was a little crowded in a concrete space perched upon the hillside. It was a short walk away from the actual village center, the school bus having already arrived and unloaded into the nearby town. It was quiet, however the squawking ruckus of seagulls and light taps of our shoe soles on the cobble filled every gap of silence. It was an incredibly winding path that weaved into the high street, bestowing small little shop fronts with divided windows and crystallized panes.

"Do enjoy reading by any chance?... Like real literature?" Juyeon asked with a sweep of his jet black hair, awkwardly stuffing his left hand in to the denim pockets of his jeans.

"No." I chuckled lightly, "who would of guessed?" I threw my hands up sarcastically watching him nod knowingly.

"Can I try change your mind on that one?" He raised a brow, dragging me by my forearm into a small shop front off the village square.

It was a minuscule and strangely home-like book store. There was a lingering scent of old oak branches, with a hint of black coffee brewing in the air. It was full of shelves, stuffed with book spines and authentic editions of practically any piece of literature under the sun. He tugged me to a particular shelf, patterned in deep shades of red, green and blue hard back book covers. Skimming his finger over the engraved gold letters, his eyes widened triumphantly when he reached the middle section.

"Pride and Prejudice." He handed me one of the scarlett covered books, a light velvet coating the outside the title engraved in the front.

"Jane Austen?" I scoffed reading the authors names on the front, taking it from his toughened palms.

"You know her?" His lips perked up into a smirk, watching as I flipped around to the blurb.

"Yeah, only from those shitty romantic lifetime films." I retorted, watching his face drop into an offended furrow.

"Hey. They're not shitty, just read it." He pushed the book towards me as I held it back out.

"What do I get from it?" I asked looking for benefits in the chunky was of paper between my finger tips.

"My highly valued respect and undying appreciation." He added sarcastically with a charming glint of his pearl white teeth.

"Oh! How amazing! Male validation! Guess I better totally not put this back on the shelf!" I gushed sarcastically, sliding the hardback on to its rightful place on the shelf. Juyeon rolled his eyes, picking the book back up and strolling over to the cashier.

"What are you-" I was cut off by the sharp ring of the counter bell, sitting on the spiked green mat that spread across the surface.

"Juyeon Lee! Look how grown up you are! You're still the little bookworm you were when you were younger I see." An wispy and silver haired lady scuttled from a room out back, her neatly tied bun sticking out statically. Her wrinkled features drooped, her smile cracking in the coursers. Taking the book from.. his rather large palms.. woah his hands are- Anyways, she snapped up the book and wrote out the purchase on a small little clipboard in the back.

"It's lovely to see you again Mrs Moon. And actually, this book isn't for me. It's for the young lady beside me." He nodded towards me gleefully. I got slightly shy when the woman turned around and observed me over her glasses.

"Is this your girlfriend?" She gasped walking back over excitedly, handing me the book with a vibrant smile.

"Nono, we actually met only a few days ago. I'm just trying to help her get a feel for the place." Juyeon chuckled at the question, ushering a reply with a short grin.
