(9) Confession

After ten minutes, you had finally stopped crying, but Beomgyu continued to cradle you in his arms.

You looked up at him and said, "I'm sorry for barging in like this. I'd probably scared you," "Y/n, you don't need to apologize," Beomgyu said, smiling. "I'm just glad to have you back."

You smiled as well, but it quickly turned into a frown. "Beomgyu, you were right; Taehyun was cheating on me. He only did it because he felt sorry for me; he never loved me. I'm so sorry." you began to get up. "I completely understand if you don't want to be my friend—"

Before you could get off the bed, Beomgyu pulled you back down, catching you by surprise. He squeezed you tighter and leaned into your hair. "No, please don't leave me again, Y/n; stay here."

"But what if your brother—"

"Don't worry about him; let's just focus on us right now."

For a while, it was like you and Beomgyu were the only two people in the world. Everything around you two was quiet and peaceful; you didn't want to leave.

Beomgyu sighed deeply. "Y/n, I have something to confess to you," "What is it?" you asked without looking at him.

"When you first started dating Taehyun, I became a little...jealous,"

That made you freeze. You smirked and looked up at your friend. "Really? You, jealous? Why were you jealous?"

"I don't want to tell you," Beomgyu said, his cheeks turning pink. "Come on! Please? I promise I won't tell anyone—"

"Nope, I'm keeping my lips sealed."

"If you don't tell me why, I will force it out of you." "Oh really? How you're going to do that?"

"By this,"

You started to tickle Beomgyu, and he laughed uncontrollably. "Wait, I'll tell you! Just stop it!"

"Okay then," you placed your hand on his chest and rested your chin on top. You waited for an answer as Beomgyu nervously glanced around the room. "Y/n, I don't know how else to tell you, but,"

"I like you,"

You froze in your position, and a shocked expression grew on your face. Beomgyu saw this and winced. "I knew I shouldn't have said that. I know you just broke up with your boy—"

Before he could finish his sentence, you leaned into his face and kissed him on the cheek. Now it was Beomgyu's turn to be shocked. You laughed at his expression.

"Beomgyu," you said, "you're my best friend in the entire world; I could never imagine losing you. And I have something to admit as well,"

"I liked you during middle school."

"Wait, why didn't you tell me? That was around the time I started crushing on you!"

"Because I thought it was going to ruin our friendship!"

You two were silent after that. After what seemed like forever, your friend spoke. "So, what are we now? I don't want to rush into dating since you just broke up with Taehyun. Unless—"

"Beomgyu," you placed your finger on his lips to quiet him. "We can start dating now. I was going to wait, but I couldn't do that. I feel like I'll lose you again." you laughed. "You kind of understand, don't you?" Beomgyu nodded and smiled. "Of course,"

Both of you leaned in, and your foreheads touched. And to your surprise, Beomgyu leaned closer and pecked you on the lips. You looked at his pink face and laughed. Then he joined in as well.

Of course, it's going to take a while to move on from Taehyun, but you had someone to help you; your best friend/boyfriend.

You were finally happy.
