Geither’s POV

What has gotten into me today? Realizing it, I know it was so awkward that I embraced her. Then on the way out, it reminded me how small the world is when I saw Zeke and Loraine hand in hand walking and guess what? It’s towards our direction. It’s too late now para iwasan sila sapagkat nakita narin nila kami. I looked at Clyde. She also looked at me like she had read what’s on my mind. Hanggang sa, were face to face.

“Clyde.” wika ni Zeke and of course embraced her as if she is his best friend.

“Hi guys.” Wika naman ni Loraine.

“Ah, nakalabas na ba ang papa mo?” tanong ni Clyde.

“Ah, oo. Actually nasa kotse na siya ngayon, nagbayad lang kami ng bills.” Tugon ni Loraine.

“Ah, ganun ba? Mabuti naman at okay na siya. Hoping for his fast recovery.”

“Thank you Clyde at thank you din dok.” Wika ni Loraine looking at me.

“You’re welcome.” I said.

“Sige Clyde. Una na kami. Naiinip na si papa na makauwi eh.” wika naman ni Zeke. Tsk, he even calls him ‘papa’.

“Sige.” Tugon ni Clyde as we separated ways.

“Bakit?” tanong ko habang naglalakad kami.

“Huh? Bakit saan?” tugon niya.

“Bakit kayo nagbreak ni Zeke.”

“Hay. It was a childish relationship. We were just in highschool that time. Kaya siguro it didn’t work out. ” sagot niya.

“So gaano naman katagal yung “childish relationship” niyo?” tanong ko ulit.

“Two years.”

“So sa lagay na iyon childish yun?”

“Yeah. I was just 14.” Wika niya.

“Well I don’t think that was a childish relationship. Nagtagal kayo ng two years and that was mature enough for you para magtagal ng ganun.”

“Well, siguro nga.”

“Did you love him?” tanong ko ulit. Now it’s my time to throw questions at her.

“He was my first love. I love him, but that was not enough for us to stay in that relationship.”

“So who broke up with who?”

“Actually. Siya. He was the first one to graduate and enter a university. Then things became different. Until one day he approached me saying he is breaking up with me.” Tugon ni Clyde.

“Well. That was weird.”

“He said he had fallen out of love and that time ganun din ako. So it was kind of a mutual decision. No hard feelings.” Wika ni Clyde as we approached the elevator.

“Hey wait.” I said. Napatigil si Clyde na papasok na sana sa elevator and looked at me.

“What?” tanong niya na nakapamaywang.

“Before you enter that elevator be sure your cellphone is in your pocket. Everytime I’m with you may nangyayaring masama eh.” Nakangising wika ko.

“Oh talaga? Dok, before you tell me that be sure your battery is full.” Tugon naman niya at pumasok na sa elevator. Sinundan ko naman siya.

“So dinadala mo na ang cellphone mo ngayon at hindi mo na iniiwan sa locker?”

“Oo naman. That experience being stuck in the elevator with you for four hours was very traumatic.”

“Talaga lang ha. Well that was traumatic for me too. So I brought with me extra batteries.” She smiled. “Let’s go.”
