This just popped into my head.

You were strange. You looked like a shy guy, just taller, and you didn't have a hood, therefore, exposing your (hair length) (hair colour) hair. You wore a shy guy masked and overall acted like one barely talking, eating in private, and living in quiet secluded areas unless Bowser requested one of you. Even then, Bowser only asked you when he needed a taller person for a job or to babysit his kids if he had work that just couldn't wait.

Even if you were a little odd compared to the usual shy guy, you were relatively happy. One day Mario and Luigi were exploring the forest looking for the best picnic place but instead stumbled upon the shy guy village where a group of shy guys and you were having a small party because they had just found a jackpot at the mines. You were the first to catch the brother's attention, which made sense since you didn't exactly blend into the crowd.

Luigi and Mario had never seen a shy guy that looked like you did and began to wonder if you were a shy guy at all. They thought that maybe the shy guys had kidnapped you and forced you to be one of them, and if that was the case, it was only the right thing to get you out of there before they could cause you any harm.

Mario let go of the picnic basket before both Mario and Luigi dashed out of the bush and headed onto the village. The shy guys immediately started to scatter, running in all directions to get away. One shy guy grabbed your hand and pulled you with them, and you followed. Mario and Luigi saw the shy guy pulling you with them and followed, running as fast as they could. You looked behind you and saw them catching up, so you picked up the shy guy and started to run faster, making unpredictable turns to lose the two brothers.

However, no matter what you did, they kept up so panicking you jumped up into one of the trees and stayed on the highest branch, still holding the shy guy securely in your hands and against your chest. The brothers had finally noticed that you were holding the shy guy willingly and were now very confused. They wanted to ask questions, but they noticed they had already frightened you and the shy guys with their little misunderstanding, so they decided to apologise and left, heading back to the picnic basket.

You watched them leave to make sure they were genuinely gone before jumping down and putting down the shy guy who looked around cautiously before grabbing your hand and leading you back to the village where some others had already returned. The moment the other shy guys saw you, they ran over, giving you hugs and checking for injuries. You smiled under your mask. The shy guys decided to continue their little party, but this time with patrol at the ready to warn them of people.

A couple of days had passed, and everybody had calmed down, and the shy guys cancelled the patrol. It wasn't your day to work at the mines, so you were hanging out by a nearby park. You had your eyes closed, not that anyone could tell under the mask, so you weren't aware when somebody sat next to you.

Luigi sat next to you and studied you more up close. He didn't want to startle you but also didn't want to sit in silence, so he cleared his throat as a gentle way to get your attention. You looked at Luigi and stood up as fast as you could, ready to bolt if he decided to chase you again. Luigi stood and stepped back to give you space. "A-ah sorry I didn't mean to startle you! Please don't run off. I'm Luigi and you are?" Luigi attempted to make himself less threatening to you since he was sure you remembered him and Mario.

"(y/n)" was all you said, but you still kept your distance. Luigi smiled softly "(y/n) is a very nice name!" Luigi complimented you. You started to relax a bit and was a bit flustered since no one had ever complimented you before. You didn't respond, though, so Luigi decided to fill the silence. "Am i allowed to explain me and my brothers actions?" He asked.

You nodded curiously to see what he had to say for himself. Luigi sat down, and you sat down across from him, making sure to get comfortable in case it was a long story. "Well, my brother Mario and I were looking for a nice picnic area when we stumbled across a shy guy village and saw you there." Luigi pointed at you. "We thought that maybe the shy guys kidnapped you, and we didn't want to leave you there, so we charged forward, but you ran off, and we were trying to catch up to see if you were okay, but when we saw you holding that shy guy in the tree we knew we did something wrong. We planned to apologise today but had trouble finding the village again until I saw you here. If I may ask, why were you with the shy guys?" Luigi had finished his explanation and wanted to know yours.

You didn't know how to explain why you were with them, so you shortened the answer to just one word, "Family". Luigi was pleasantly surprised by your answer since he had never heard of shy guys adopting anybody into their little families, but he guessed you were living proof that they did. But this left Luigi with more questions. "Does that mean you can take your mask off? It's okay if you don't want to!" Luigi had immediately regretted asking that because he knew keeping that mask on was somewhat of a religion to shy guys, and if they had adopted you, they most likely would've taught you to keep it on.

You nodded and took it off. The first thing Luigi was drawn to was your (eye colour) and how nice they looked in the sun. Luigi let out a dreamy sigh. "You look so nice (y/n)", He complemented before realising what he said and blushing madly while tumbling over his words to explain himself. You chuckled slightly before giving him a small thank you. You heard the telltale drums of the shy guy village urging you to come back.

You bid farewell to Luigi before dashing into the forest while Luigi was left with a single thought.

When will he see you again?
