You were quiet to the point nobody really knew how your voice sounded. Of course, not many people cared and got along with you just fine, but a certain someone was desperate to know. Dimentio, the well-known jester, would spend a lot of his time just trying to get you to talk or laugh, but he was met with failure every time. Dimentio being the stubborn guy he is, would never give up no matter what.
You had nothing better to do today, which gave Dimentio a perfect chance to talk with you. "HEY HEY (y/n) WATCH THIS!!!!" Dimentio shouted while juggling chainsaws while rolling around on a comically large ball. 'this won't end well,' You thought to yourself as you watched him roll around. Low and behold, Dimentio stepped in the wrong area, causing him to come tumbling off the ball and the chainsaws not long after.
You ran in to pick up Dimentio and only narrowly avoided the three chainsaws that clattered the moment they touched the ground. You looked at Dimentio, and while he wasn't injured, he seemed to have a hint of amazement and wonder on his face. Dimentio usually didn't wear his mask around you, and while his face wasn't that different from the mask it would actually show emotions instead of the smile.
You put him down and walked out of the room. "WAIT!!" Dimentio called out, grabbing his mask and running out of the room to catch up with you. He started to walk at a perfect pace with you "(y/n) I got some more tricks to show you like this one!" He said as he pulled out a bouquet of roses and held them out to you with a slight yellow tint across his mask. You took the roses, which caused him to giggle before running off at full speed into another room, closing the door behind him.
'Hope he had fun in that closet,' you thought to yourself as you examined the roses. They all seemed to vary in color from the brightest red to the darkest black. You didn't know why but it took you a minuter to realize that the roses formed Dimentios mask. You sighed to yourself as you went to find a vase to put them in.
For the past couple of days, Dimentios tricks and jokes grew more and more flattering, from giving flowers and compliments to straight-up flirting. You would be lying if you said it had no effect on you, and it honestly got you thinking bout how you viewed Dimentio. You had always been intrigued by the jester and had always found him funny, even if you didn't show it. You had never really talked to the jester no matter how much he asked you to, and you thought that maybe that you would use your voice to confess.
You had left a note for Dimentio to meet you at the hill with the giant oak tree. Due to Dimentio taking ages to find stuff it gave you enough time to set everything up. You had set out a picnic with things that you had baked and cooked, and you even had a little speech ready just in case you got nervous.
Dimentio arrived without his mask on and looked at all the food, his mouth-watering. You smiled and pointed at the food as a way to tell him he was free to eat whatever he desired, and he did not hesitate to dig in. About halfway through, he finally asked, "So what did you want me for? Can you just not get enough of me?" he held a suggestive tone. You started to hesitate and get nervous, so you took a deep breath.
"Dimentio I wanted to say that ever since I noticed you I was intrigued by you and your funny antics b-but after some time that intrigument turned into something else. It turned into love and I understand if you don't-" You were cut off by Dimentio hugging you tightly. He kissed your cheek. "You don't know how long I've tried to get you to speak," He said, holding you tighter.
You were pretty sure he accepted your confession, and you could enjoy the rest of your picnic without worrying about your confession anymore.
While Dimentio was happy you talked that day, he didn't make you speak if you really didn't want to, but he did cuddle with you a lot more and used a lot more *ahem* explicit complements.
HEY!! This isn't as long as my usual ones cause, as I said, writer's block, but at least I had some idea about what to do with this.
Anyway, the word count is 800
