Dawn

For the past week, I only have two places to go, my unit and University. I finished everything I needed to submit before the due date. My friends are busy until now and I was the only one who's having my free time before practicing our graduation. Elle's from the Business Department, I visited her one time and I saw her in their Department's meeting room presenting something to the panelists. I brought something, but I can't just excuse her for it. I also did the same to Lana and Serene, but just like Elle they're busy. 

After a week I'm finally back here, the sea is very calming. I am reviewing for our finals week, because our professors are in a hurry and just gave us our own copy of reviewers. We only have 4 days left to review. Monday next week will be our first day of final examination. My mind can't take any of what I'm reading when I'm in our classroom so I leave early since the professors are busy now and won't come for classes. This is the only place I know I can find peace and silence. While reviewing, I saw Lana's name on my phone's screen. She's calling…

"Ate Dawnie, where are you?" 

"D&D's why?"

"Ate Seah's here with..." I heard Ate Seah's voice asking if it's me on the phone.

"Hi Dawn! Where are you? Are you busy?"

"Uhm, kinda. I'm reviewing."

"Ay, okay...I'll see you when I see you! Take care." she dropped the call.

If I'm not mistaken Lana's saying something before Ate Seah interferes and I received a message from her before I can type. It says I shouldn't go home late because she's cooking for us. I know she's not in my unit because I can hear Freya and Dorothy's voices in the background. I continue to read and write my notes. I really thank our Mayor for creating a little house-like waiting area here. It has a round table and chairs around it and it also has a roof as well.

My mind needs a break, to relax my mind I walk around the area. I always see this place as us, this place is our beginning, the only place we showed ourselves. I still remember when we both got the highest grades for almost all of our subjects, I brought my bicycle that day and we both went here to celebrate. She bought the food while I became her driver. It's funny how we sometimes declined our friends' invitation just to be here. 

Every time there's a problem in their family, this is the only place I know I can find her and I'm always right. If my father punished me I would also go here. We are open to share our problems with the waves because once they approach us and return to the sea, our problems will be drowned. What we felt that time is like the waves embraces us and bring us home in each other's arms.

This is funny yet it still means a lot to me. These waves know what I really feel. I'm back to reading again. I was drowned with a lot of information I am reading now and didn't see my mother's messages. She wished me good luck because she just knew about me from Elle. I guess Elle's at our house again, but she didn't message me ye--

'Hey Dawn! I'm at your parents' house. Are you coming?'

Yeah, she just messaged me. I answer her 'no' and continued again. I think my head will hurt later once I finish these reviewers.

Every time I review, I'll end up sleeping to recharge my mind. It's day 3 of reviewing. Our department asks us, Architecture students, to review at our own houses since they're busy preparing for the final exams and the Dean agreed with it. So here I am in my unit, studying. Lana always comes home late but I thank Kai and Austin for taking her home. Last night, Elle asked me if she may go here, in my unit, today and I answered yes. I think she can help me to keep me focused on reviewing. She kinda calms me too and I missed her stories. It's 3:23 in the afternoon and I'm waiting for her call. She said she'll call once she arrives, I will prepare our food.
