It's Friday and today is the day! The final ranking of graduating students will be released. For the past four years I always ranked 2nd and 3rd. I hope I'll still be in the Top 5 this year. I saw Elle's with her friends, which I get along with 'cause we sometimes eat lunch together. That was the least bonding time we can have since we're both busy. I think she saw me, because she's like excusing herself. I am waiting for the announcement that the list's already posted.

"Dawn! Did you see the ranking?" she asks.

"No, I'm waiting for the announcement..."

"OMG ka girl. It's already posted! Let's go." I let her pull me, we're both running like excited children receiving a star from our teacher.

She's right. There are lots of students in front of the bulletin boards. We have five main bulletin boards and all of them were occupied by the large number of students. I pulled Elle this time and I saw how she pouts, she's cute.

"What's with the long face?" I laugh because she's funny. 

"I thought no one knew about it. I searched for you, because I want to see the ranking with you."

"Well, thank you Eleanor, but look at these big shits." she's the one laughing this time.

"It's the first time I heard you say a bad word and you sound cool bitch." it's the first time I heard her saying that too!

We're laughing like a fool the whole time we're waiting for the students to go. Man, they're too excited. We just let our different self out with each other, I curse whenever I feel extreme feelings. When the students are gone we proceed to the list. Elle searched at the end of the list while I searched at the middle. I heard someone chuckling behind me, so I turned. It's one of my professors.

"You're Dawn Shin right?" I nod and see Elle stopped searching too.

"And you're Eleanor Choi?" she nodded too.

"Your names are included in the top 10 ladies. Don't look that far, you're our top students." my eyes widened and thanked him for his compliment. Elle did the same and we rushed to the top list.

"Oh my god! Dawn congratulations!"  She's jumping like a child while hugging me. She began to cry and to know why, I looked at the list. I feel extreme happiness.

My happiness turns into tears when I stare at my name...ranking as the Magna Cum Laude and Elle's name at the Top 5 overall. She's a Cum Laude. We're both crying while smiling, she asked me if I'm going to tell my family about it and I said no. Maybe when I came home, this coming Monday. I asked my mother if she'll join me and she rejected it. She explained why and I understood it. She said it hurts her, because she can't do anything about my father and she doesn't deserve to be with me in one stage where I only work hard from the start.

Me and Elle separate ways, I will go to buy the ingredients for a dish I need to cook. I didn't tell Serene and Lana about it because I want them to be surprised with it once I graduate. They said they will join me in my graduation ceremony. I went to the nearest grocery store to our University. It's the same grocery store where I saw Ate Seah, Serene, and Sienna. 

I go to the vegetables' stall and get what I need. I get three bottles of beer and one bottle of wine. I also get some chips. When I'm done from this store I look for a shorter line. They have a quick service and for an impatient person like me it's really helpful. I froze when I saw a familiar figure walking out of the grocery store. It's her! I know it's her! I followed her, but before I could leave the store someone grabbed my arm.
