Fourth Horseman: A Review

'The Dustbowl and tequila aren't likely to erase the regrets haunting the Fourth Horseman, but when annihilation is your sole purpose how can you find substance for your soul?'

One of my favourite Wattpad authors – scratch that, one of my favourite authors and one who, sadly, much like all of my favourite authors, I rarely have time to read – is the man formerly known as @hachebrown, now going by the @LostDMBFiles moniker...

Every time I agree to write one of these reviews for Tevun-Krus I instantly regret it... Not 'cos I don't enjoy reading/reviewing, nor because those stories I review are poorly written, but simply because when I read I get completely and totally lost in the world lovingly crafted by the author.

@LostDMBFiles's 'Fourth Horseman,' is most definitely no exception to that rule.

I first read the piece way back, I don't remember exactly when and to be perfectly honest that doesn't matter. What does matter is that upon reading Fourth Horseman again it's just as good, if not better, than the first reading.

The narrative is first class, the writing drawing you into a weird-west/dieselpunk world of @LostDMBFiles' creation. It sounds and feels like an awful place, to be perfectly honest, but the way everything from the 'suffocating dust,' to the 'blue enameled kettle,' is put across makes you want to delve deeper into this world, makes you want to taste that dust and find out just how stale the water is inside that kettle.

I'm not going to review the whole shabang here, in fact I'm going to leave it here for no other reason than I know damn well I'm unable to do it justice but please, do take the time to read it for yourself and get acquainted with a fantastic story!
