I was wrong for thinking that this trip would not cause me any stress and that it would be something enjoyable. Although Jake sat beside me the entire time, the bus ride was perfectly fine. I'm not even mad that he sat beside me. But what happened at the lodge is what makes me want to rip my hair out. It's about lunchtime when we arrive at the lodge. Everything was going smoothly. We were escorted to the dining/commons area. Never in a million years would I have thought she would do that. Judith had done the unthinkable. You know what, let's go back to the moment when it all went down.
The four of us - Joy, Joshua, Jake, and I- found a table and sat down with a couple of snacks. Obviously, Jake sat beside me. And at this point, it didn't really bother me. I suppose you could say that we bonded - a little - during the bus ride. Joy happened to notice that no one brought any drinks, so she volunteered to get some. Just as Joy left, Judith walked up to our table. She looked at Jake and gave him a sweet smile after turning and glaring at me. Judith turned towards Joshua, grabbed the collar of his shirt, and pulled him up.
"I warned you."
This was her biggest mistake. She had crossed the line the moment she did that. Judith had just kissed Joshua, in front of Joy. Joy had come back with the drinks right when Judith pulled Joshua into a kiss. Looks like she must have thought that I still like him. I looked over to the side of Joy standing there in shock. Tears were starting to collect in her eyes and her breath became labored. My eyes shifted back to Judith and Joshua. I watched as Joshua pried himself off of Judith and stood beside Joy, whose tears were now running down her face.
"Wow. Never did I think you'd stoop down that low." I said to her face.
"Well, I see that I've hit a nerve. I wasn't messing around when I said stay away from..." I couldn't take it anymore. I strode over to Joy and took the coke can out of her hand.
"Hey. HEY! Where are you going? I wasn't done talking to you. Come back here," Judith screeched.
"Who said that I was leaving," I opened the can and dumped the beverage all over Judith.
The whole room became silent and everyone was in shock. I had just poured coke over Judith's head. Even the Seniors, who don't even care about us, were looking my way. Everyone was invested in what was going on. I could hear the whispers and criticism of others flood throughout the room.
"Damn! She really just did that." Said a guy who was now recording what was going on.
"Oh my gosh! Judith is def gonna sue her."
"That b**** is really in for it."
"Dude. Yo. Mark, did you see that."
"Man, that was wow. She seems cool."
I walked over to Joy and grabbed her hand. Before exiting the dining area, I turned back and pointed at Joshua and Jake. "You two, come." I walked out of that room feeling like I was on cloud nine. But that feeling had soon disappeared and I was hit with reality. Judith is not going to let this go.
