"Kookie, I'm sorry. I just- fuck I should have told you sooner." Taehyung hated seeing the tears well up in Jungkook's eyes.
Jungkook shakes his head, "No, it's ok. I should have asked if you were going to go to college. I- I just didn't think."
Taehyung feels his own eyes start to water, "It won't be forever Jungkook. Just four years, maybe less if I do summer classes. I'm so sorry I'm telling you like this. I thought I had more time, but an old friend of my mom is paying for me to move now so I can get settled in before school starts. I just can't pass up something like that."
Jungkook nods and looks at him, hope flooding his eyes, "Maybe we can do long distance."
Taehyung sighs, "No Jungkook. I don't want to do that to either of us. We're both too clingy for that to work."
A tear rolls down Jungkook's cheek, "I- 'll wait for you then!"
Taehyung shakes his head, his tears starting to fall as well "Absolutely not, Jeon Jungkook. You can and will find someone else. Date around. You're too young to wait on me. Be a teenager. Fall in and out of love a hundred times before you find the one."
Jungkook shakes as more tears fall, "But what if I've already found the one?!"
Taehyung smiles through his tears, "Then we'll find our way back to each other. But right now, we have to live our own lives."
Jungkook nods sadly, "I'll miss you."
Taehyung places a soft kiss on the boy's lips, "I'll miss you too. Maybe when I'm all unpacked, you can come visit?" He sighs, "We still have a week, Kookie. We'll be together until then, ok?"
Jungkook takes his hand, "A week, we have a week."
-
"What's wrong with you, kid?" Yoongi sat down next to a sulking Jungkook.
"Taehyung's going to college." He didn't even look at Yoongi.
Yoongi's eyebrows shoot up, "what?! I didn't even know he applied. When is he leaving? There's what, a month left before you start back to school, so he has a month and a half, two?"
Jungkook shakes his head, "He's going next week. Says some Northside person who was friends with his mom is paying for his moving expenses and setting him up with a pretty good job. 'Only catch is that he goes so soon."
"I- He didn't even tell me." Yoongi frowns.
Jungkook finally looks over at him, "I don't think he told anyone. Said he didn't want to make a big deal about it. Just told me today."
"Oh, Jungkook, I'm sorry I know you guys really had a good thing going." Yoongi hated seeing the younger like this, "Is there anything I can do?"
Jungkook shrugs, "Not really." He stands and looks down at Yoongi, "I think I'm going to go on a run. Clear my head."
Yoongi nods, "I hope it helps."
As Jungkook leaves out the front door, Jimin comes in.
"Hey Yoon," Jimin smiles as he walks over, "You know if anyone's home?"
Yoongi shakes his head, "I don't think so. Girls are at Min Ju's friend's house, Jun's out meeting with his parole officer, Min Ju's working, and Jungkook just left for a run. Why?"
Jimin smiles mischievously as he walks to the stairs and starts up them, "Well, I'm just going to be in my room. My empty room in the empty house where no one would hear us if-" his voice fades off.
Yoongi stands and smiles to himself. He can't remember the last time they had the house to themselves. He practically runs upstairs and finds Jimin shirtless and working on his belt.
