Five years later
"Babe, I'm going to work! Remember, I'm going to go home tonight. Wanna help Ju with some stuff, so don't wait up!" Jimin called his boyfriend, Cole.
"Yes, sir! Love you." Cole comes up behind Jimin and plants a kiss on his cheek.
Jimin smiles. "Love you too." He leaves out of the door to his car.
A lot of things have happened in the past five years. Jimin graduated college in about three years and then went ahead and got a master's degree. He hated to admit it, but college had been very good to him.
He had a couple of boyfriends here and there. During the first year of his masters, he met Cole. It was right after a bad break-up. They started out as just friends but quickly got romantically involved.
And they were good together. They really were. Sure, Cole didn't understand the world that Jimin came from. And sometimes, just sometimes, Jimin felt a little bored, but whenever those thoughts creep in, Jimin has to just shake them out of his head.
Jimin had learned a lot about himself in the past few years. One of those things is that he tends to self-sabotages a lot. Cole was just so great. He is nice and sweet to him. He was everything a boy could want.
Jimin, on the other hand, was none of those things to himself anyway. In the past, Jimin had never been able to let himself have nice and sweet people in his life. He had never had a boyfriend who was a genuinely good human being before. For fucks sake, Cole has never been in a fight; he waited till he turned 21 to drink, and he's never done drugs, not even weed. He was a fucking golden child.
So yeah, a part of Jimin wanted to break up, cause some drama, anything to spice up his life. But he knew he couldn't. Not again. He was 24 now. Jimin has to start focusing on his future and what he's going to do with his life.
At the moment, Jimin was working at the Southside Elementary School. It was nice. He taught kindergarten, and he genuinely enjoyed it. Jimin found he preferred the presence of a 5-year-old over the people his age and older, especially on the south side. It also felt nice to work closely with the people he grew up with.
Recently he hadn't been in the southside that much because he's been staying with Cole. Jimin still technically lives back home, but he's not there a ton. He's just busy these days. He's excited to go home tonight, though, missed his siblings.

Once the day is over, Jimin drives over to see his family. They were all still living at the house except for Jun, who had moved out about four years ago. He got a girl knocked up, and they were now living together to take care of the little girl.
Once he got to the house, he walked in and saw the twins on the couch, "Hey guys! How was school?"
Hyeja, who has decided to start going by Jay this year and using she/they pronouns, answers, "Boring and annoying. The clock was too loud, so I kept looking up at it, and it made me hyper-aware of the time. Felt like the class went on for days."
Jimin drops his book bag on the floor next to the couch and sits in the chair, "You been taking your meds? They're supposed to help with stuff like that."
Jay huffs, "I know, but I keep forgetting."
Jimin nods, "Yeah, you gotta try to remember, though. The doctor said if you don't take them regularly, you could get a panic attack or go into a depression. We don't want that."
Jay pouts, "I don't like how they make me feel. I'm so tired when I take them."
Jimin smiles to himself, "Dude, that's what they're supposed to do. Your ADHD makes you bounce off the walls."
