Morgan Monteith
✵"Tonight is the full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse." Elijah looked around at the group gathered in the parlour of the boardinghouse as he spoke.
It was a gathering of mixed, tired and serious, faces. Damon leaning on the bar, Elena in one of the armchairs, Stefan standing behind her, looming like some guardian angel, Morgan had the couch to herself, and Elijah stood somewhat in the middle of the little half circle.
"Elena said that the Sun and the Moon curse is fake? That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus?" Stefan questioned the original vampire perplexed. Elijah gave a court nod, "Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. During the ritual, right when the curse is broken Klaus will be vulnerable, and that is our chance to kill him with the stake. But if he breaks the curse and we do not succeed.. He'll be a true hybrid."
Damon rolled his eyes and sighed annoyed, "Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie." Elena scowled at him, "No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying."
"I'll write her a great eulogy." Damon shrugged with the fakest smile he could muster at the time.
Morgan huffed unamused, deciding to speak up since Elena looked on the verge of angry tears, "It's not an option, Damon." She told him calmly, yet in a stern voice, letting him know it was not to be negotiated any further."All right, how does he break this curse? When do we attack?" Stefan asked trying to calm Elena and to get the conversation back on track.
"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know," Elijah started."The moonstone," Stefan listed. Morgan sighed, "And the werewolf, vampire and doppelgänger," she added. It was no secret she'd been catching up on all there was to know about her situation and the sacrifice lately as a sort of preventative measure.
Elijah nodded, "Yes. A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each."
Elena furrowed her brows, her face one big question mark, "And where does the doppelgänger fit into it all?""The final part of the ritual." Elijah told her as he pulled out a wooden box from the bookshelf behind him. "-Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger, to the point of their death."
Elena lifted a brow, "And that's where you come in?" She asked the original. Stefan took Elena's hand and she looked at him nervously as Elijah opened the little wooden box and plucked out a small vial from it. Damon side eyed the couple and the original skeptically, while Morgan watched the vial intrigued.
"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation." Elijah told the group confidently.
Elena squinted doubtfully at the glass vial, "So I'll be dead?" Elijah gave a court nod, "-And then you won't." He stated simply.
Morgan could feel Damon reeling beside her, but before she had a chance to stop him, he spoke up. "That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" He asked incredulously, sending a look to the others to make sure they were hearing the same bull-crap plan from the original that he was.
"If you want to come back to life, what about John's ring?" Damon suggested when nobody else spoke up.
Elijah let out a small sigh, "Those rings only work on humans. The doppelgänger is a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work." He explained.Damon glared at him annoyed, "I'll take those so called 'odds' over your elixir. What if it doesn't work, Elena?" Elena clicked her tongue, acting as if the answer was simple, "Well.. Then I guess I'll just be dead?" She shrugged.
