Morgan Monteith
✵Morgan woke up to darkness.
She was surrounded by the smell of loam dirt and when she became aware of her body she realised she was underground.
She immediately sat up in the shallow grave, making the dirt fall off of her, and she coughed violently as she brushed herself off.
Scanning her surroundings Morgan felt overwhelmingly confused and disoriented. She was deep in the forest, or at least semi deep, as she did not see any clearing, or hear any sign of the city over the hushed noises of the forest.
Looking down, she shuttered as she realised she was sitting in a shallow grave. Her own shallow grave.
Judging by the traces on the sides, it was dug by hand, no shovel, and the dirt had been kicked back over her after she'd been put in there.Clearly she'd been dead.
Question was if she'd woken back up, or reached the afterlife.
Morgan pondered for a bit over her predicament until she concluded that if she'd been in the afterlife, she surely wouldn't wake up in a shallow grave."You're a little fighter, aren't you?" Morgan's head shot to the right in an attempt to locate the voice.
She hadn't expected anyone to stick around her dead and buried body.
Her eyes narrowed angrily as Klaus walked out from behind some trees."You killed me?" She asked him in disbelief. It was the smirk on his lips, the hint of surprise behind his eyes and the annoyance in his voice that tipped her off.
"Mh. Seems it didn't quite stick."The memories all hit her, jumbled and at once, the impact felt like a freight train to the head.
The ritual, Jenna and Elena dying, Klaus killing her, the potion. "It worked.."Klaus approached and squatted beside her. "Feel like sharing with the rest of the class, Dove?"
"Elijah.." Morgan felt a smile creep onto her face as she realised what had kept her from dying was the evil original's own brother.
"ELIJAH?" Morgan nearly jumped out of her skin as Klaus yelled into the forest with a certain authority and command. And into the small clearing of her shallow grave walked Elijah. He stopped in his tracks as he looked at his brother perched next to her on the edge of the shallow grave he'd dug her.
"Morgana." He breathed out relieved. Saying her name felt like breathing for the first time again since he'd buried her. In a flash he was at her side, holding her tightly before pulling her fully out of her grave and to her feet."Elijah, why isn't she dead?" Klaus questioned his brother, now a hint of anger in his voice. Elijah was looking her over carefully and brushing dirt off of her, "I don't know, brother." He responded when he felt like he'd restored her somewhat to what she'd looked like before putting her in the ground.
"Well, she seems to think it was your doing? Did you feed her your blood you hopeless-romantic fool?" Klaus groaned, the simple thought of his brother falling for a human appalling to him.
Elijah let go of Morgan, as he thought it over, thought about how he should've done that, even if she'd hated him for it in the end, even after she'd confided in him her thoughts on it and told him she would not wish it upon anyone. "No, I actually didn't."Elijah's gaze turned to Morgan perplexed then, she looked sad, not in the way a child gets sad if you take away their favourite toy, or sad in the way one does when a family member dies, or sad like if you've had a really bad day.
No, Morgan looked broken, disappointed and tired. The doppelgänger looked up at him hesitantly, "I drank the potion before I begged him to sacrifice me instead of Elena." She told him carefully. Like she thought it would hurt him. "–You trusted a five-hundred year old potion to save your life?" Elijah looked in shock already, but then Morgan kept on talking, "No, not really.."
