The gang, except Damon and Elena's biological dad John, was mostly gathered at the abandoned witch house where Bonnie had stayed hidden since they'd made Klaus believe he had, allegedly, killed her.

Morgan had quickly contacted Elijah after finding out that Elena had been taken by Klaus and was indeed not with Damon, who'd still yet to show his face after his departure at The Grill earlier that day.
"The sacrifice is completed in stages as the full moon sets. First the werewolf is killed, then the vampire, and finally the doppelgänger. Once Elena dies, the curse will be broken, and Klaus will become a hybrid." Elijah informed the group who was listening intently. "So when do we attack?" Alaric asked already planning when to plant his stake in the original.

"Elena's death will activate his dormant werewolf side. He'll be vulnerable during the transformation. That's when Bonnie comes in." Elijah explained the order in which things were going to happen. "-And you're sure bonnie will survive this?" Stefan cut in quickly.

"If she can deliver him to the brink of death, I'll finish the  job myself." Elijah confirmed. Bonnie would not have to die. She would be using a lot of power, but Elijah would be the one to deal that final blow.

Stefan excused himself, turning his back to the group and taking a step or two away as his phone rang.
"Damon ... Cut to the chase. Is the sacrifice happening or not? ... We're sticking with the original plan. We're meeting bonnie right now ... What?" Everyone felt silent as Stefan turned around and looked at Alaric with something undecipherable. A mix between, guilt and horror. 

Morgan sighed as Stefan hung up, slowly pocketing his phone, still not talking. "What is it, Stefan? What's wrong?"

"Klaus is gonna use Jenna in the ritual."

It was right then, that Bonnie, which of the hour, decided to come out of the house. "Jenna? Why did he take Jenna?" Elijah huffed looking around the group of solemn and worried faces. "A punishment for meddling."

Seeing Bonnie's confusion Stefan elaborated, "Klaus was going to use Tyler and Caroline but Damon rescued them. He meddled, so Klaus took Jenna." Bonnie was reeling at this point. Knowing she'd been stuck in that house while one of her best friends had almost been sacrificed and left to be saved by the likes of Damon was more than enough to get her blood boiling. "Then we need to go. Now. Before Jenna's been sacrificed. I can kill Klaus myself." The witch declared stubbornly.

Stefan grabbed her arm softly as she went to walk past him. "Bonnie... If you use that much power, you'll be dead. We've already been through this. It's not an option." He told her gently, letting her arm go again.
Bonnie looked at him with fire in her eyes. "Neither is letting Jenna die!" She argued, knowing how much Jenna meant to her niece..

"Well, Stefan agrees with you, Bonnie, which is why we have to come up with an alternative.. Elena wouldn't want any of you sacrificing yourselves or being sacrificed.. she loves you both dearly." Morgan cut in, trying to calm down Bonnie a bit, and not have the little witch's frustrations let out on poor Stefan.

There was a moment of silence as they all tried to come up with a new plan, the first to do that was Stefan, who determinedly spoke up, "The only way to save Jenna is if we offer another vampire. One that he'll want more.. Me."

Elijah, Stefan, Alaric and Morgan stood outside watching as the sun slowly started its descend, painting the skies above them a beautiful yellow, pink and orange. All the while Bonnie had been doing a locator spell to find out where the ritual would be taking place, and where Klaus had taken Elena.
The ritual would take place at Steven's quarry.
