- MEETING THE FAMILY -

Winter 2020

Scarlett's POV

My family is coming over today well some of them, my mom, my twin brother and my older sister are coming today to meet Charlotte, they knew I was adopting her and are very happy for me, I couldn't have kids because I have a hostile uterus.

It is just after noon and I am making some snacks for when everyone comes over, Charlotte is sitting on the floor beside me playing with her toys while drinking her apple juice from her sippy cup, I like to have her with me all the time because I know she doesn't like being alone after with happened to her mother.

There is a knock on the door so I pick Charlotte up and bring her to the front door with me, I open the door and are met with my mom, brother and sister all smiling like maniacs.

"Hey everyone, come on in"I say stepping to the side to let them in, they all look at Charlotte in awe of how cute she is.

We all sit on the couch and they wait for me to introduce Charlotte to them.

"This everyone is my daughter Charlotte, she is four years old and quite shy around new people"I say turning Charlotte around to face everyone, I point to everyone and tell Charlotte who they are.

"It is lovely meeting Charlotte, I can tell you are an amazing little girl"My mom says smiling to her, Charlotte smiles back and then smiles at my brother and sister.

We all talk for ages and everyone is getting to know Charlotte and she is getting to know everyone, she is talking a lot which is absolutely amazing, she is now sitting in between my mom and Vanessa my older sister while we watch 'Finding Nemo', she is quietly munching away on the snack I left out, she is quite the eater I'll give her that.

It is little bit after dinner and we are all sitting around playing some board games and card games, Me and Charlotte are on a team because she doesn't really know how to play and then everyone else is by themselves, we are playing UNO, me and Charlotte are winning so far until we have one card so I shout 'UNO!' causing Charlotte to get scared and jump and start to cry.

"Awh baby, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that, come here"I say opening my arms waiting for her to crawl into them, she crawls into them and I hug her tight, she snuggles into my chest and her cries turn into hiccups.

"We should get going Scar, we'll see you at Christmas dinner"My mom says as her and my siblings stand up to go home, I stand up and walk them out and say 'goodbye' and close the door.

"Baby do you want your baba?"I asks my daughter, she nods and I walk into the kitchen to make her a bottle and make sure it is warm enough and then walk over to the couch sitting down and putting her into the cradling position so I can feed her the bottle.

She soon falls asleep after she finishes her bottle, I have noticed that she keeps sucking her thumb during her sleep and sometimes during the day so maybe I should get her a pacifier because I don't think sucking her thumb is healthy for her.

I head up to my bedroom and lay down with Charlotte laying on my chest and soon falls asleep after a long and fun day.
