"coach put me in" you said standing infront of him, "y/n, i thought we talked about this already, we're saving you for the next game" he sighed. "there won't be a next game if we lose! if you put me in it's an automatic win!" you exclaimed. "it's not that i don't believe in the starters right now. but you need me to win this game" you said.

"okay fine, don't go all out though. save that for the finials tomorrow" he said and you smiled, "thank you!" you said excitedly taking off your hoodie.

"they're putting in y/nicchi?" kise mumbled, "wasn't she a manger for your team?" his captain asked. "hmm yes but she's an extremely talented player, she can even beat aomineicchi" he said.

the whistle blew indicating for a sub.

"win this game y/n" your coach said before patting your back.

"pft substituting a second year for a first? that's dumb" someone from kaijos team said.

the game resumed starting with tōō having the ball. "it's exciting playing against such good defense" you said trying to find a way to get passed the girl guarding you.

it wouldn't hurt if i just took a few steps back right?

you continued walking backwards to the half court line, "NOW!" you yelled and jumped into your shooting position. hikari passed you the ball mid air and you made the 3 pointer.

"y/n-chin is being so reckless" murasakibara mumbled shoving his face full of snacks. "it is the last quarter... i guess she has to try and regain all the points that were lost" himuro said.

"what the hell was that?" one of the kaijo girls said in astonishment. "put another girl on her, she's gonna cause us some trouble".

"eh? that's our special move shin-chan!" takao exclaimed, "we've been working on it together, i've been helping her with it" midorima said pushing his glasses up.

"their defense is tight" you mumbled.

"dumbasses if you really think having two people on me could stop me" hikari scoffed throwing the ball into your hands while you were mid air so you could make the shot.

"not just a dumb first year now huh?" you mumbled running to the other end of the court.

your team did a one on one with you guarding kaijos captain, "i won't let you get the ball" she grumbled. "be my guest, im just some dumb first year after all right?" you said getting out of your guarding stance. "go ahead! pass me!" you said crossing your arms.

she looked at you for a second, before trying to run past you if it weren't for you slapping the ball out of her hand. you dribbled to the three pointer line and took the shot with only one minute left in the fourth quarter.

108-106 kaijo.

"one more three pointer y/n!" hikari said excitedly before running off to the other end of the court. "don't let them score!"

"was she really just a manager?" reo asked akashi. "she excels in basketball, not only as a manager but a player too. she was recommended that she played on teikos girls team, but she refused to." akashi said with a small smile.

"eh? you're smiling?" kotaro questioned, "it's nothing." akashi said going back to his plain expression.

"y/n take the shot!" your captain saki said passing you the ball, with only a few seconds left you took a deep breath. "THERE ISNT ENOUGH TIME TO RUN Y/N! TAKE THE SHOT!".

ten seconds left on the clock.

wouldn't hurt to a buzzer beater would it?

you dribbled the ball for a little waiting exactly three seconds before the game ended. you took a deep breath and got into your shooting position.

"cmon y/n" midorima mumbled clutching his lucky item, you both had the same zodiac sign. so he was hopeful to say the least.

with only three seconds left on the clock you jumped and took the shot. you closed your eyes afraid of what the outcome might be if the ball didn't go in. you've been practicing midorimas signature shots with him for awhile, but you've never tested it out in a game.

the buzzer went off and you opened your eyes and looked at the scoreboard.

63-60 tōō.

"Y/N YOU DID IT!" hikari said giving you a massive hug as well as your other teammates. "we're going to finals y/n" your captain said with tears in her eyes, "save the crying for when we actually win saki" you said sarcastically.

i owe them a lot, i wouldn't be here today without them.
