"so daiki, does kaori know about aikko" your mom asked, "mom!" you hissed looking at her. "she does know" daiki said aggressively cutting his steak. "i would've brought her to dinner, but she's only four and an extremely picky eater" you said. "she gets it from her father" daiki's mom said glancing at him.

surprise, you and daiki have a kid together.

five more years later

"daiki" you said into the phone, "what's up?" he asked. "aikko is in the hospital" you sniffed as you continued to wipe your tears. "babe what's wrong?" you could hear kaori say through the phone, "it's aikko, she's in the hospital" he said as he grabbed his keys not even bothering to take his jacket.

"but it's our anniversary dinner-"

"aikko comes first."

"oh cmon really? that thing was a mistake! it was a pity fuck baby. you're seriously blowing me off for her?" she exclaimed putting her fork and knife down.

"i don't have time do deal with your bullshit right now, kaori. i'll deal with this when i get back" he said.

you heard the door slam shut as he sighed.

"i'll be there. taking the next flight out, booking my ticket right now" he said before hanging up. "l/n aikko" you said running up to the front desk, "you'll have to wait a minute" she said.

"i work with some of the best lawyers in this country. try to deny my rights to see my daughter, especially while she is in a horrible state, you and i will be in court. i can assure you that it won't be a pretty trial" you threatened as you filled out all the forms needed to be signed.

"room 3" she sighed and you ran over to her room.

"you must be l/n y/n" the doctor said looking up from his folder. "i must say i am a very big fan of you" he said shaking your hand. "with all due respect, please just tell me if my daughter is going to be okay or not" you said desperately.

"she is in a coma right now, there's no saying when she will wake up. we estimate around a week to a month" he said as he continued to flip through the x rays.

"she has a broken arm right there" he said pointing to the very obvious bone that is broken.

well no fucking shit sherlock

"and a broken leg. otherwise the rest of her body is fine"

"okay, thank you" you said and he nodded before he left.

the next morning you woke up with daiki sitting on the chair beside you. "daiki" you whispered tapping his shoulder. "daiki" you whispered again and he finally woke up, "cmon" you mumbled walking out the door.

"i'm so glad you're here" you said giving him a hug, "i am too" he mumbled. "how is she?" he asked leaning against the wall. "coma, broken arm and broken leg. the doctor thought it would make everything better if he said that the rest of her body was fine" you sighed.

"there's a bag of clean clothes in there. lord knows you wouldnt even go home for five minutes to change out of your work clothes" he said pointing to the bag.

"i'll go get food for us, stay here and let me know if there are any updates" he said before walking away.

daiki's pov

i got into the car and my phone rang.

kaori.

"fuck" i mumbled picking up the phone, "what" i groaned starting the car. "can we talk about this?" she asked, "what's there to talk about? you clearly weren't okay with me putting my daughter first" i said.

"why do you care for a child that was a mistake?" she asked with a sigh. "so what she wasn't a planned kid? she's still my daughter."

"shouldn't i come first though? i'm your wife for fucks sake!" she yelled, "and she's my daughter, we share the same dna. you and i don't" i said aggressively.

"maybe we should divorce" i said again, "i'll send the paper over next week, sign them." i hung up the phone and pulled into the mcdonald's parking lot.

back to you lol

you changed out of your work clothes and into the ones that daiki gave you. they were his clothes.

you walked out the washroom, sat on the chair and looked at your daughter. there were wires attached to her, a feeding tube stand and bag by her side, a cast on her arm and leg, overall she looked like a hot mess.

"i'm back" daiki said placing the bag of food on the table and taking out everything in it. "aw you still remember my usual" you said excitedly eating a chicken nugget. "you are a very hard thing to forget" he muttered pulling out a teriyaki burger for himself.

"you still aren't bored of those?" you asked, "you used to eat them everyday in highschool, and you still aren't bored?" you laughed.

"hey you used to eat chicken nuggets everyday! you still aren't bored of them" he said in defense sitting down next to you.

"so the nba, huh?" you said glancing at him. "i always knew you were gonna make it" you said again. "really?" he asked, "yeah. you loved basketball more than any of us, and you're still insanely good at it. i'm still the better player though" you said shrugging your shoulders.

i miss seeing her in my clothes

"no shot you're better than me. let's not forget who plays in the big league now" he said proudly crossing his arms. "hey we're both in the big league! i'm just one of the best doctors in japan, and you play basketball in the nba" you said.

"did you ever let her wear the diamond bracelet i got her for her birthday?" he asked, "only for special occasions and dinners, too scared of losing it. what're you gonna do when it doesn't fit her anymore?" you asked putting the empty box of chicken nuggets in the paper bag.

"i'll buy her another one" he said shrugging his shoulders. "now that kaori and i are divorced, i can give her all the time in the world. at least when i'm not travelling for games and stuff" he said.

"divorce?" you asked, "you divorced her? when?" you asked again. "before i got into the car to get food. she kept calling her a mistake and kept saying shit like you pity fucked me" he said wiping his mouth.

"you weren't a pity fuck" you said putting a hand ontop of his. "i know it wasn't a pity fuck, y/n. i was there" he chuckled holding your hand.

"it's always been you" he whispered, "huh?" you asked. "i never let go of that five year plan" he said, "i thought you did considering..." you trailed off. "i couldn't get contact with you, apparently you changed your number and your mom refused to give me your new one"
