"They're definitely not normal"

The floor boards creaked with every other step you took. The sound echoing through the long, bare hallway. You hummed lightly, taking in your surroundings. Light chatter could be heard through the thin walls.

"Are you nervous?"

The tall, silver-haired man uttered, breaking the comfortable silence that had unknowingly fell between the two of you. You turned your head towards the man you knew to be Fukuzawa. The president of the Armed Detective Agency and starting today, your new boss. He spoke with his head still facing forward. His face calm, yet serious.  

"I believe I'm more excited than nervous." You reassured, smiling brightly in his direction. "I'm still curious though, why did you want me to join your agency?" You continued, your expression becoming more questioning than bright.

You had asked that question before. But one thing you've begun to realize about the President, is he's exceptional at answering a question without answering it at all.

"Hmm...you seem like you'll be a good fit here a suppose."

That was the straightest answer you had gotten from him so far. And probably the only one you were gonna get out of him.

A good fit huh..

You reached your destination before you could say anything else

"Who knows, you might end up thinking so too." The president spoke before pulling open the door at the end of the hallway "After you."

With a nod, you walked in, the noticeable chatter becoming louder as you did. Almost all at once the conversing died down, all eyes on the stranger who had walked through the door. Studying you with tilted heads.

"Ah! Y/n you're here. Nice to see you again."

The silence was broken by a tall man with dirty blonde hair that ran into a long ponytail. Greenish-grey eyes could be seen through the frames of his glasses.

You had met him before, he was there when you were tested.

"Yes! It's nice to see you again too, um, Kunikida? Was it?" You inquired

"That's correct! Come on in we can get you settled-"

"Oh finally, another woman! I've been going crazy with all of these ruffians." A tall woman with short hair interrupted kunikida's speech. She wore long black gloves and a butterfly clip in her hair. Her heals clicked with each step she took towards you. You hadn't even met her yet and you could already tell she's a force to be reckoned with. The best kind.

"Im Akiko Yosano, the resident doctor of this agency. You must be y/n!" Yosano said taking your hands in hers. "You are such a beauty my goodness!"

You chuckled at Yosano's compliments. "Thank you!" You smiled, not exactly knowing how to respond. You weren't used to getting such open compliments.

"But you should take a look at yourself!"

The woman you know knew to be Yosano brought her gloved hands up to her slightly rosy face "stop it you're making me blush already!" She said, waving her hand

"Oh! You must be y/n! Kunikida-san told us about you!" A voice said from behind Yosano causing her to move to make room for the person. Behind her stood a boy with gray hair with a single black streak in it. His eyes consisted of both purple and yellow, mixing together perfectly. He smiled at you. An adorable excitement in his tone as he spoke.

"It's so nice to have a new member! Im pretty new myself. I only joined a few months ago, so we can learn together!" He grinned "oh, I'm Atsushi Nakajima!"

You chuckled at his excitement "Nice to meet you Atsushi! I'll definitely enjoy learning the ropes with you!" You smiled. You couldn't help but find Atsushi's excitement just adorable. You could see he had so much hope in his eyes. You could already tell that you were going to be quite protective over him.

You continued to meet the members of the agency. Each one unique and different in their own way. You hadn't been around people with such strong personalities for a long time and it was refreshing to see.

Kenji, was as sweet as they come. One look and you just wanted to give him a big hug. Junichiro and his...sister...Naomi also seem quite nice. Though, their relationship confused you like no other.

Ranpo, introduced himself while snacking on a bag of chips and a donut, though he assured you there was no need for you to introduce yourself. Simply stating it's all due to his superior deducting capabilities. Then there was Kyoka, she was a short girl with black hair. She seemed quite nervous at first and mostly stayed by Atsushi's side. Though she quickly warmed up.

"Alright, you've about met everyone at the agency. Well, there's one more person, but he's on a case and won't be back for a couple days. You can meet him then. Trust me...there's no rush." Kunikida mumbled the last part with an irritated look but you heard him nonetheless, which made you curious on what this other member was like.

After saying your goodbyes, Kunikida showed you to your desk before taking you to your new apartment. He helped you bring your things in before turning to you.

"I'll leave you to get settled in. I'll see you back at the agency tomorrow. Goodnight y/n." Kunikida waved before exited the room.

You waved back before flopping on the bed with a long sigh, looking up at the ceiling

"Those people..." you laughed to yourself as you thought back to your eventful day "...they're definitely not normal."

And that thought made you even more excited to start.
