Part VI: Green lights

Monty's green room was, well... a very green room. As Y/N and Kaiden walked in, they were kind of surprised how nice it looked.

To left the minute you walked in was a vanity, with a star-shaped mirror rimmed by green LED lights and a dentist-style green leather seat. Across the room from it was an arcade machine. In the bottom right corner sat a very plush-looking green coach, covered in pillows with Monty's face on them. In each of the corners up the back were little bunches of faux leaves, and front and centre was a little stage.

"Woah, green..." Kaiden mumbled.

Monty chuckled. "Purples actually my favourite colour, but they thought green would be better."

Y/N chuckled. "Really? That's so dumb! You blend right into everything!"

The gator smiled. Swish swish.

"Uh, Monty..."

Swish swish swish swish.

"Monty! You're tail! You're gonna hit the table!" Y/N reached for the gators hand, dropping her plush, and pulling him back just in time before his massive swinging tail hit the glass coffee table.

Monty turned his head, realised how close he was to hitting it. "Oh jeez... thank yo-"

He flushed. Y/N had pulled him away, but in doing so she had pulled him closer to her. Y/N stared up at him, feeling her face grow red hot. Her hand was resting on his chest, and their bodies were a only a few inches apart.

Y/N leaped back, making sure not to trip this time. Her heart pounded and fluttered in her chest. "S... sorry..." she stuttered.

Monty stayed silent for a moment. "I- it's fine! Really!" He finally stuttered.

Kaiden narrowed his eyes at the two, picking up the Monty plush that Y/N had thrown aside and silently nodding his head.

Monty motioned towards the green coach. "You can sit down. I- if you want to!"

Y/N smiled, relieved to finally be able to sit after standing in the huge concert crowd and happily sat down, with Monty perching himself carefully next to her. "Kaiden! C'mere, come show Monty your grody gum!" Y/N called, holding her arms out.

Kaiden came bounding over, hopping in his sisters lap as he opened his mouth as wide as he could.

"That's healed so well, lil' guy! You musta been good for your sister!" Monty cheered.

Kaiden nodded, smiling so much Y/N thought he might tear his cheeks. "And lookit the 20 dollar bill the tooth fairy gave me!!" The boy beamed as he yanked it out of his pocket.

Monty gasped. "That's awesome, bud!"

Y/N laughed at the site of the giant robotic alligator chatting with the small 8-year-old boy.

Bzzt. Y/N jumped. Was that her phone?

Monty looked away from the boy, and up at her. Y/N pulled her phone out of her pocket. It was an old flip-phone, but she never cared. The messages were from their Dad. Her heart sank, and she put her phone away without any second thought.

Monty leaned over, trying to glance at her expression. "Is everything ok...?" He cooed, shuffling a little closer.

Y/N looked up at him, smiling. This was probably the first time anyone had gotten a genuine smile out of her after something with her dad. "Yeah."

Monty gave a sigh of relief. "Good!"

Bzzt.

Kaiden spun around in sisters lap, grabbing her hand. "Ignore it..."
