1. When the Night Changes

You were sitting in the corner of the room, coughing and sobbing, holding your chest and choking on your breath while tears streamed down your face watching the scene in front of you.

It was a dark room, more specifically, a bedroom, which once used to be filled with laughter and happiness now filled with terror. The floor was covered with blood, your mother in the other corner crying in pain while a man you have never met before kicked her harshly again and again. Her forehead was bleeding and so were the cuts on many parts of her body , while she struggled to get on her knees.

"No! Please! Leave us alone… I-I beg you!" You watched your mother getting harshly beaten up and begging the man in front of her to not hurt you.

"You worthless woman! You don't deserve any mercy for what you and your husband did! I'll watch you all destroyed and turn to ashes." said the man, venom dripping his words. He had her jaw held in his palms while he slapped her harshly with the other making her fall back on the ground.

While she laid there exhausted from all the abuse, the man turned on his heels and stared at your shivering form and came to you, grabbing you by your throat and choking you against the wall, while your feet kicked the air due to lack of air. "Please ! Don't! Don't hurt my daughter! Do anything to me, but let her go!" She cried out to him, while he paid no care to her pleas.

A man came running towards him, dressed in similar uniform as the other men who stood by the door. "Boss, they are on their way. We might need to hurry." After sparing a glance the man who spoke the words he threw you down. Loud cries erupted from your mouth as your fragile form crashed against the furniture. He turned towards your mother who was struggling to reach you.

"Looks like your knight in the shining armour is here. But it's so sad that he won't be able to see his lovely wife ever again.… Atleast, not alive." His dark cold eyes had an evil glint in it, when he reached into his clothes to pull out a gun from it.

"NO!! Don't do this! Please! I'll do anything for you! This won't solve anything, I swear! You will regret it!" she cried holding onto you tightly while she screamed at him. You wanted to do something. But you couldn't even move. Your body was shivering in its place, whimpering every time he shouted. 

You looked at the men lying on the ground whom she had beaten up just to save you. She ended up getting hurt and lying on the floor in front of this devil. You were scared, the bodies that laid on the floor scared you. The blood soaking your clothes scared you. The fear in your mother's eyes terrified you, even more than the man who had a gun pressed against her forehead.

You were crying, tears streaming down your face, hugging your mother, wishing all of this to stop, for the pain to stop.

"You are one annoying bitch, aren't you? Your spiteful mouth can't keep shut even in the face of death, can it?" He scoffed at her and shoved her to the floor and pressed the gun on her chest. "You have the guts to threaten me even now? I'm going to regret it? You still expect that pathetic human you call husband to come save you? Ha! Pathetic!"

"Don't worry. I won't do anything to your daughter. 'Not now'. BUT YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE FUCKING ALIVE!!" He didn't wait a second more and fired bullets on her chest and abdomen, making her spit blood, while you screamed holding your ears, looking away from her, not having the courage to witness it.

He didn't wait to watch her die. He left. He left the 8 year old you with your dying mother. You were shouting for help. You were scared! She was bleeding…. A LOT! You couldn't help but get more terrified at the sight of her getting more and more dizzy and breathing heavily. You placed your hands on her wounds to stop the blood, but it only kept flowing, soaking you in your own mother's blood.
