The following week, I eyed my email inbox like a hawk to see if I got hired or not. Every day had the same pattern and I needed that job to get some money, take care of (S/N), and shake up my life a bit. It was near the end of the week when my hopes started to give up on ever getting an email from Fazbear Entertainment.
(S/N) wanted to play Freddy's themed kids monopoly so I had to tear myself from my email to play with them. I put the email notification sounds on just in case I got the job while we played. We were a few rounds into playing before I heard the notification go off. I quickly scrambled to unlock my phone and hit the email app, taking in a deep breath.
"Let's hope I get the job (S/N)." I nervously opened the email, waiting for it to load in.
"Get in get in get in!" (S/N) shouted, jumping up and down slightly.
The minute the email loaded it, I braced myself for the impact of the results. I focused my attention on the bright colors and the words it said.
"Welcome to your new job at Freddy Fazbears- I got the job!" I was squealing a bit, excited that they accepted me.
(S/N) squealed out loud as well with me. They were just as excited as I was to be hanging out at the {izzaplex all day with other kids. Mom wasn't going to be back in a couple of hours so we did what siblings do, combine forces to prank Mom into thinking I didn't get the job. We set the scene of the crime, putting slightly damp tissues on the floor, a dirty plate with mostly eaten pizza, messy hair on both of us, as well as making our eyes look red and puffy from crying.
Mom pulled into the driveway and I got ready with (S/N) to look moppy on the dining room table. Both of us couldn't stop giggling at the chaos that was about to happen. Mom unlocked the door and I gave my best Hollywood sad face that I could muster.
"Honey, what's wrong? Did you not get the job?" She was so sweet with her tone, almost making me feel bad for pranking her. Almost.
"I didn't..." I trailed off my sentence, waiting to see her face drop for the punchline. (S/N) acting sad in the living room helped sell the prank.
"Oh honey, I'm so-" I cut her off by finishing my sentence, jumping up from my seat.
"I didn't GET REJECTED! I got the job!"
She looked like she was ready to kill me at that moment for making her feel bad. (S/N) was laughing loudly in the background, all signs of sadness removed from our faces.
"I'm taking away your allowance." She walked away from me to get to her bedroom, ready for a relaxing evening.
"...I had an allowance?"
The Monday I started work came quicker than I thought it would. I spent the weekend learning more about what I would be doing in the kitchen and boy did it look rough. But there's nothing I can't handle. I got this. The company sent the basic uniform for me to arrive at work in, I guess to make sure I wear work-appropriate clothing and to match with the theme of the Pizzaplex.
(S/N) was waiting at the front door for me, already ready with a bag for them to take to the daycare. We did our car routine and got to Freddy's in the nick of time. The email said there would be an employee at the front to lead me to the kitchen, as well as take (S/N) to the daycare. I looked towards the entrance and saw an employee with a yellow vest jacket talking into a walkie-talkie.
"That must be who I'm looking for."
I grabbed (S/n)'s hand and we walked towards the employee. She looked up from her clipboard, noticing us getting closer.
