It was now lunch time and I was seating alone.

The cafeteria was full and you could hear the sound of students chattering a mile away.

There was movement from the chair next to me, so someone decided to join me.

I looked up to see who it was and guess who was siting next to me, no other than Emmett McCarty. Jock, and resident football player. Emmett was part of the popular squad but I remembered that he has been nothing but nice to me. He had a muscular figure, black curly hair and cute dimples.

“Hi Bella!” he says smiling. “Mind if I sit with you?” he asks.

“Of course not” I say smiling, but it didn’t reach my eyes.

We ate in the silence. None of us talking. Then the cafeteria door opened and out came Rosalie Hale. Emmett’s eyes were on Rosalie and you could see a hint of hope in them.

Rosalie saw Emmett’s stare and she blushed a hundred shades of red.

Hmm... Looks like something is going on with this two. Who would have thought Mr. Captain of the football team likes Ms. Hale.

I smirked. Happy for my friend, even thou we hardly are friends in this time.

“So, you like Rosalie” I say to Emmett with some amusement in my voice.

“What---? No! I don’t! I mean maybe? What? Okay! I may like her a bit”. He admits shyly.

“Wow, I don’t think I saw that one coming” I say this time having a genuine smile on my face.

Then the bell rang. And I went off to my next class.

Literature.

I was sited next to Alice Brandon. She was a sweet girl, petite, with black hair. People are so mean to the likes of her; she’s been named the weirdo because she keeps to herself.

But seriously there’s nothing wrong with that.

Throughout Literature she stayed quite not uttering one word to me. And when class was done she made her way out the door as quickly as she could.

She seems to be okay. I think I want to be her friend, she seems like she needs someone.

The day dragged on and time passed by with me making my way from one class to another. Soon it was dismissal and as I was driving out the parking lot I saw Alice Brandon walking home in her heels.

“Hey, want a ride?” I asked her.

She stopped and looked at me “No thanks”.

“Okay, be careful” I told her giving her a half smile.

I pulled into our driveway and got out of my car. I went inside our house and right when I opened the door the aroma hit me.

“Hey sweetie how was your day” My mom asked.

“I’ve had better” I replied. ”What cha’ making mom?”

She smirked “meatloaf, mashed potato, garlic bread and green beans.”

My mouth was watering with her words. That was my favorite dish in the whole world. No one makes it better than mom.

“Need any help?” I asked. She looked surprised, but smiled and nodded.

I headed to the kitchen and started peeling potatoes, than when I was done I started cutting them. “Okay, what do you need?” Mom asked.

Huh?

“I don’t need anything, Mom” I told her putting a straight face on.

She smiled.

About an hour later everything was set and dad just got home a few minutes ago.

We were almost done eating when, “Bells, if you got yourself into some problem all you have to do is tell me.” Dad grumbled

I was a little offended cant a girl just want to spend some time with her parents?

“Dad, I’m okay. I didn’t get into problem; I just wanted to spend some time with you.” I said and then gave him a half smile.

Dad smiled at me.

Was I really that bad?
