Chapter 10

The following week Edward has been avoiding me. Only speaking few words to me, and always making up get excuses so he could get away from me.

In truth I was hurt.

Rose and Emmett have gotten really close, I always feel like a third-wheeler when I’m with them. That’s why I’ve been hanging out with Jasper and Alice.

Who knew that Jasper also studied in Forks High. Jasper Whitlock was the shy type of guys. He doesn’t like being in the spot light. So that’s why I’ve never noticed him until last week.

Having Alice and Jasper as friends are great. They both have an amazing sense of humor.

I think Alice likes Jasper though. At lunch I would catch her stealing glances of Jasper.

Jasper definitely reciprocates.

Whenever Alice is the one talking Jasper looks at her as if he was a blind man who was seeing the sun for the first time.

None of them was making the first move, so I just had to intervene.

When it was dismissal time, I went to the parking lot and cornered Jasper as he was making it to his car.

I asked him how he felt about Alice.

He blushed fifty shades of crimson. And admitted to me how he did really like Alice. I smirked.

So I told him that I would help him.

“Thanks Bella, I really need your help on this one. Alice is amazing and I really want to ask her out but what if she says no? then things will be awkward for us.” He mutters.

“Jasper I doubt Alice will say no. And if she does it’s better that you tried. Could you have lived in regret that you never did find out how she felt towards you.” I told him.

He finally got my idea.

“Okay Bella” he said and took me by surprise by hugging me.

I stiffened at first but immediately hugged him back.

However as I looked over his shoulder I saw a small figure. Focusing my attention towards it. I saw that it was Alice. I pulled away from Jasper, a rather confused Jasper also saw Alice.

“Alice it isn’t what it looks like” I said.

She ran away with tears forming in her eyes.

Jasper was going to follow her but I stopped him and told him it would be best if I talked to Alice.

I followed Alice and found her walking out of the school- as usual, but this time her face was strained with tears.

“Alice, please listen to me” I said.

“Why did you have to take Jasper huh Bella? You already have it all. Why did you have to take the only person I ever liked. Isn’t Jacob enough for you? What about Edward huh?” She sobbingly says.

Huh? Edward?

“Alice if you just calmed down and listen to me you’d know what really happened. Please just hear me out Alice.” I said.

She stopped walking and told me I could proceed.

“Alice, I was offering Jasper with some help. Jasper likes you Alice. And he wanted me to help him ask you out. I said yes and he was just so happy and hugged me. You have bad timing Alice, that’s all I swear” I told her.

“Really?” she said.

“Yes Alice, Jasper likes you. He just needed a little push from yours truly.” I replied.

“Now I feel like an idiot. I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions. I know you’d never to that to me Bella. But you just make me insecure. Because you pretty, smart, sweet no wonder Edward likes you” She said.

WHAT?

“What did you say Alice? Edward likes me?” I asked confusion all over my face.

“Yes, don’t you see it Bella. It would be obvious to a blind man. That boy likes you Bells, maybe it’s even more than like.” Alice says smiling.

Did Edward really?

“Bella, you help Emmett and Rose then Me and Jasper. You say you can easily see it that we like each other, but why can’t you see Edward feels like that towards you.” She asked.

I didn’t have an answer to that though.
