Second Chances

Chapter 8

Today was our test In Biology. I was a little nervous because if I don’t pass this one I’m not gonna make it to graduation. Me and Edward have had a few more study session and it was nice and I definitely learned some things.

Mr. Barners handed out our test papers and we proceeded to answer the questions. Some questions I’ve encountered with Edward. Others were a bit tricky but I managed to finish ahead of time.

After Biology I went to the cafeteria.

Just as I was making my way to the cafeteria someone pulled me to the far side of the hall.

“Jacob, what is this about?” I asked.

“Bella, are we having problems? Because you keep on avoiding me. Lately I’ve been seeing you hanging out with those low-lives. And you’re not yourself. What’s going on?” He asked red with fury.

“I just want a change, Jacob” well that was the best answer I have.

“What about Prom? If you keep hanging with low-lives people aren’t gonna vote you.” He says really angry

Is that what’s important to him? The title Prom king and queen. How Shallow.

“I don’t care about it anymore” I finally say.

“I know, it’s Cullen isn’t it? You like him, don’t you?” Ihe says completely mad now.

My eyes bulged. “No, this has nothing to do about Edward.” I reply.

“Sure sure, just remember Bella. It’s your choice.” He mutters smugly.

I walked off and went to the cafeteria. I sat by Rose, Emmett and Edward. Rose and Emmett were talking about cars, while me and Edward were stealing glances of each other occasionally smiling.

I went off to Literature.

I was actually the first one to arrive, so I took my sit. Alice came in next. We were waiting for the others to arrive

“So, who’s your favorite author?” I asked her.

She was hesitant at first, but then replied “Hardy”

And after that we have been talking none stop. We had so many things in common not just literature. We both loved the same music, shared lots of hobbies and we had the same list of favorite food. We got along so well that now we were talking about who’s the hottest guy in school.

I didn’t hesitate to answer and said. “Edward Cullen”

She smirked but didn’t say a word and when I asked her she just shrugged me off.

Alice was fun, hyper, sweet, controlling, noisy but I could already see her as a best friend. And she looked like someone who needed friendship.

“So Alice I was thinking me and Rose have a girl’s night later would you like to joins us?” I ask.

Her eyes glimmer with hope she smile and says “ I would love to.”

I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
