Trigger Warning: Drowning

6 days left ; Wednesday ; 3 days until the party

I was crawling through a small tunnel on my hands and knees, sewer water entering my nostrils and making me gag.

JJ and Pope can be heard behind me attempting to guide me. Their banter making me roll my eyes.

They were acting like pussies just a minute ago, too afraid to go in the sewer, so here I am again doing the dirty work.

I hear the echo of a phone notification informing me that I was paid for winning the race the night before.

I didn't want to stay to rub it in Rafe's face because I didn't have the patience to be in his presence.

$200,000 down. $300,000 to go.

I had 6 days left and was looking for any way to earn hard cash quickly.

As I drove home after a night of little sleep, a headache began to form.

I enjoyed the peace and quiet around me on the drive home, but I wished for the darkness of the night to engulf me.

Something was missing. But I couldn't quite put it together.

The past truly haunts you until you confront your demons.

you never left.

Souls tend to go back to who feels like home.

I was puzzled by the voices in my head.

My mind kept pulling me back and forth between the past and the present.

Attempting to persuade me of who I was and who I was becoming.

"Kie, are you okay?" JJ asks.

"I'm fine, just-" I exclaim while gagging.

I'm going to need three showers after this. I'd drag them in here right now if I could.

As I approach the end of the tunnel, I notice a manhole cover and a ladder. I step onto a ledge, raising the water level to my hips.

As my feet trudge through the murky muddy water, I close my eyes in disgust.

Rafe's POV:

I take off my helmet and get off my bike parking near the Kildare County Sherriff Department.

Barry and I walk over to a sewer grate. Kneeling, we examine the grate opening.

"There's no way my ass is getting down there in that shit," Barry says seriously.

"What you'd need to do is flush this shit out, and that's where it'd come out from." Barry says as he points in the opposite direction.

I get up and try to think of a way to find this gun.

We make our way to where Barry sees a sewer unclog.

When Barry starts turning the wheel, I hear faint voices coming from the sewer.

We came to a halt and remained silent, trying to figure out what we had heard.

I walk over to the sewer and hear the voices of the Pogues.

Then I hear her voice; she's found the gun.

"Oh, they're in the sewer," I scoff slightly telling Barry.

As I recall the events of the previous night, anger rises within me.

Kiara had humiliated me in front of my friends. She stabbed me in the heart with a knife, bringing my father into the picture.

fucking bitch.
