3 Days left

Blue eyes staring back at me bafflingly. Rafe looked as though he had seen a ghost.

Emotions flashed like lightning across his eyes.

I swallowed my panic as I was engulfed by his gaze.

I feel like a prisoner confined to a cell with no way out. I didn't even feel like I was there because my body was so still.

The slightest movement of his body sends chills down my spine, and I wince.

Rafe notices it, and his eyes are filled with sadness. Deja vu comes over me because I've seen this expression before. It seems that I was the one who knocked him out this time.

"Kie... I- I" unable to finish his words, I took a step back.

Being in the room with him alone terrified me more than being in the ring with him.

"Fuck you, Rafe Cameron" I spit with such venom in my voice that I barely recognize myself.

Rafe's POV:

My chest heaved up and down slowly, and I tried to breathe steadily, but the air between us was suffocating every inch of my being, causing my head to feel light.

As I tried to swallow my anxiety, the fire in my throat obstructed my airways.

I couldn't believe she was standing in front of me, having beaten the shit out of, and that the reason was because of me.

I took a step forward, hoping to wake up from this nightmare, but I also felt compelled to persuade her that this wasn't me.

I subconsciously move my hand up to her face, wanting to cup her in my palm. Her innocence was something I wanted to protect, and shield from the evil of the world.

Before I could even touch her, she moved her face away from my touch. I slowly swallow as I watch her eyes, terrified of my presence.

"Don't. Touch. Me," Kiara says so bitterly that I quickly move my hand away from her.

My mouth twitches slightly as I process what she said; I was unable to control the anguish that was rising within me.

A headache begins to pound my head, making me want it to pound me harder, jolting me back to reality that I had hit her.

I wished I could take it all back.

I take a deep breath, grabbing the back of my neck and grabbing the back of my head, pulling at the hairs in frustration.

"Kiara, I swear I-," I exhale.

"Save it, Rafe. Get the fuck out of here" Kiara says, not letting me finish.

I bite my cheeks in frustration, wanting to fight her and tell her my side of the story.

"I didn't know you were-," I try to say.

I didn't want her to push me away.

"Are you fucking deaf? Leave, Rafe!", Kiara says beginning to raise her voice.

I'm at a loss for what to do. I couldn't leave. I stood there, immobile.

Kiara began to clench her fists in frustration, her eyes fiery and burning holes into me.

"Fuck, Kie, no," I say as I stand my ground.
I wanted to wake up from this nightmare and never wish it had happened.

"Hart... you needed this gig," I state, looking for an answer in her eyes.
