I woke at what felt like dawn so I could figure out what to wear. I landed on a simple green dress from the back of my drawer. I had to wait until Alice was awake to ask for her help using an ironing charm because my hair was a wrinkled mess. Then I did my makeup and put on my robes. All the while, Marlene rolled out of bed, grabbed her rucksack and wand, threw on her robes, and rushed me out of the dorm. We climbed down the stairs and went up to the owlery instead of on the grounds since it was less suspicious. Students would be releasing their owls to fly home for the break so it didn't seem that strange that we were heading up there. Maybe I could pick up Gemini's owl.

We smoked mostly in silence because I was too stressed to talk and Marly is not a morning person.

"That's a nice dress," she finally said after we were halfway finished with the doobie. "You could add some nice earrings and some other accessories to make it...less blah but, still nice."

I chuckled. "So you think my mother will approve?"

"Wiv the fur on your wrists? Absolutely. 'ow much were it anyway?" She asked lazily while taking a hit.

"I think," I squinted my eyes, "this was around 12 galleons and a couple of sickles?"

Marlene choked on the smoke. "12 galleons!?"

I blinked at her. "Probably," I said sheepishly.

"Merlin!" She exclaimed. "I forget 'ow much coin your family's got."

I blushed and turned away from the door, taking the doobie from her. "Don't look at my feet then," I mumbled looking at the matching boots I had on.

We finished the doobie and I looked around for Redpuff, Gem's owl but I didn't see her. She must've come to get her last night. "C'mon rich girl, let's go cop breakfast," Marlene poked at my robes and I chuckled.

Once we'd eaten, we made our way back to the common room to get our things. Remus was sitting on the couch reading out loud to Peter. We passed them and made our way up to the dorm. I grabbed my bags and Binx and headed back downstairs. As students joined together to walk down to the carriages I let Binx trail at my ankles. Mother would insist I have him a bath when I got home anyway. Might as well let him have some fun even if it means getting a little dirty.

We rode the carriages to the train and waited to board. I brought my cloak closer to my body as the wind seemed to whip around us. "Surprise!" Someone yelled and I flipped my head around only to see Finn.

"Don't do that! You nearly gave me a heart attack." I teased and he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Can you sit with me on the train?" I asked giving him puppy dog eyes and he pouted.

"I'm sorry darling," he leaned down and kissed me. "I can't. I've got to stay with the Prefects checking up on the younger students."

"Well," I said, wrapping my arms around his neck, "you know I am a younger student, just come check on me," I flirted and he chuckled.

"Oh hush," he teased and held me closer. "How was your morning?"

"Nothing special. I just smoked some grass, ate something, and made sure I did my makeup the way my mother likes," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Well, I think you look beautiful."

"Really?" I asked and furrowed my brow.

"Are you kidding?" Finn asked. He took my hands and held them out to the side exposing my dress to the cool air since my cloak wasn't buttoned all the way. "This dress, the fur, with your figure?" He made a face and bit his lip. "You look incredible." He pulled me tighter, his hands reaching lower than anticipated.
