-Alula-

It was moments after I sat down that I realized sitting still didn't settle my mind. Maybe a walk would help, but I was so tired after trudging through Hogsmeade all day that that was less appealing than lying down. I tried to remember what the parchment Aunt Miranda showed me, had said. The Gringotts' statement wasn't going to be helpful within the library books here at Hogwarts. I ended up walking down to the library and found Lily and Marlene in a corner of the room.

"What are you looking for?" I whispered and Lily jumped at the sound of my voice.

"Bloody hell, hi." She chuckled and in a hushed tone continued. "I've only found school records of hers and her brother."

Marlene waved and I smiled. "Here, look at these."

She shoved a stack of parchment toward me and I took them. I looked through them and saw the name 'Vulcan Inkwood' next to a list of OWL grades and another with NEWT grades. He had achieved all O's except for one or two E's in both exams. The next sheet of parchment had an image stuck to it. It showed a boy probably a bit older than us, standing with the Quidditch cup in one hand and a broom in the other. He was relatively tall compared to the other boys on the team and had a dark aura. His black hair was slicked back and he had thin brown eyes that flickered as he looked between the cup and the camera. He had a chiseled jawline and a defined chin. He was handsome, yes, but even just seeing him for a second, I got the impression that he was dangerous.

I flicked through the rest of the parchment and saw that he was only two years older than his sister. I pulled out the other OWL and NEWT results papers that were labeled 'Gabriella.' She had earned as many if not more O's than her brother with only one E on her NEWTs. I shoved the results out of my way and whispered. "Are there any old disciplinary notices?"

Alice's voice answered. "No, we went for those first seeing as we're pretty sure she's a You-Know-What." I scoffed and went to the other side of the library. I wanted to find the Hogwarts records of past Prefects and Head Boys and Girls.

I went over to Madam Pince and asked her where I could find them. She scowled at me interrupting her reading and harshly informed me that they would not be found in the library but instead would be kept in the Trophy Room.

"The Trophy Room?" I asked puzzled.

"Shh! Yes, and if you don't lower your voice, I'll have you thrown out!" She whispered to me.

I excused myself and rolled my eyes. She reminded me too much of my mother. I went back over to the girls to explain where I was going. "I'm going upstairs to the Trophy Room, I want to see if she was a Prefect or Head Girl. Do you want to come?" I whispered and Marlene nodded grabbing her wand and a small bag she had with her, then waved to Lily and Alice.

We left the library and took the first staircase we saw before it started to turn. "What's the big deal if she was a prefect?"

"Well, the Head Boy and Head Girl are picked by the headmaster, so we could ask Professor McGonagall if Dumbledore had anything to say about her character."

Marlene squinted. "Or Slughorn, if she was picked to be prefect."

"Exactly," I shrugged as the staircase came to a halt. We hopped over the vanishing step and ran up the next staircase.

"After we've checked the Trophy Room," She blurted out suddenly, "Right, can we 'ead straight dahn to dinner? I'm starvin'."

I chuckled, "Yeah, I'm hungry too."

We got up to the third floor and peeked inside. "Why's it so dark in 'ere?" Marly muttered to herself.

"Lumos Maxima!" I lit my wand and so did Marlene.
