After getting our ice cream we walk around laughing and talking about his past Spider-Man adventures and what I've been doing. "Also Gwen got me completely addicted to this place that has Korean meatballs. Have you been there? It's mind-blowing." I tell him, thinking about the meatballs now.
"That place on 6th. I know. You love it there." He slips and I don't know how he knew that.
"How do you know that?" I ask him which he ignores. "How do you know I love it there?" I repeat myself.
"Because... Because you told me." He sighs, going over to a tree.
"It just opened last month. Have you been following me?" I ask as he hides his face making me smile some. "I knew it. How often?" I step closer to him, placing my hand on the tree as he moves his head into view.

"Just once a day. Sometimes. Sometimes more." He smiles, making me tear up so I shake my head laughing.
"Why?" I wipe a tear away before it comes out. He just looks at me, not saying anything. "Make sure I'm safe?"
"And..."
"And what?" I tilt my head.
"And because it's the closest I can get to still being with you. When you come over and I see you with aunt May... you try your hardest to pretend I'm not there. And after a certain amount of time you then leave as quick as you can." He steps up to me resting his forehead on mine while slowly bending down.
"Please don't." I whisper to him with my voice cracking. "I don't want you to regret anything." He keeps getting closer to my face. "Gwen wants me to move to England with her and I'm thinking about it." I say making him stop.
"What?" He slowly stands up straight.
"She's up for a scholarship to Oxford. I mean... I was too, a different one from Gwen, but... Oxford isn't what I want. But Gwen still thinks it would be good for me to go live with her there if she gets it. She hopes it's her who gets it. She's up against a 14 year old in college so..." I explain everything to him.
"Wow."
"Yeah. She's really excited and really wants me to go live with her but... I don't know if I really want that. I would like to go but here there's..." He looks into my eyes before turning around, "What?" I ask him.
In a blink of an eye Peter was gone but all of his stuff was still here, "Pain." I throw my trash away putting his jacket and shoes in his backpack before putting on the bag walking the way he looked.
Knowing something bad was most likely about to happen, I rushed towards the middle of Time Square. "Excuse me." I tell people making my way to the front of the barrier. I watch Peter and he says the other guy's name was Max. And I was wondering what happened to him.
