Take a twenty-dollar bill in your hand, straight and clean and gleaming.
Now crumple it.
The once straight note is now ugly and wrinkled. But does it decrease in value? Would you still keep it?
Proceed to dropping it on the floor and stomping on it with as much gusto as you can muster.
The shoe prints and the stains make a great addition to the already-crumpled paper, don't you think? But hear me out now. Would you still want this twenty-dollar bill? This broken piece of twenty-dollar note, dirty and ripped at the edges?
You would. You know you would. Do you know why?
Because its value hasn't decreased. It still has a worth of twenty dollars, no matter how crumpled, stained and dirty it might be.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, stepped on, grounded into the dirt by the course of fate. We feel as though we are worthless, worthy only of being thrown away for good. That's where we're terribly wrong. No natter what happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You will always be you, an individual whose worth cannot be measured with jewels and money alone.
Don't ever let anyone else -not even yourself- tell you otherwise.
