"I don't know how to say this Athena, but I think i'm already falling for you.." He said, I could see him looking at me in the corner of my eye. I froze. I slammed on the brakes, not even meaning to.
'Theo.. I'm sorry.' I looked at him and took my hand back as I placed it on the steering wheel. 'I'm sorry if I gave you mixed signals but I like someone else..' I sighed and he looked out the window, refusing to make eye contact with me.
"I don't know why I thought you'd be worth me liking, I guess it's actually my thing to be sorry for." He yanked his hand from the center console and grabbed his backpack as he unlocked the car door.
He opened up the door, in the middle of the road, and got out. I looked at him through the rolled down window with a sorrow look on my face. He looked back at me with a sad look on his face.
"Have fun at your coffee shop, Athena, i'll walk myself to my house. Also, don't bother calling me again." He slammed the door and began to walk in the opposite direction of where I was going.
The right thing for me to do is turning around the car and telling him to get it, but the way he made everything go down, I knew he wouldn't be worth the struggle. I was hoping to myself that he'd be a boy I got along with that wouldn't fall for me, but I guess that was bound to fail in the end.
I found it all ironic. Earlier we had talked about him not "falling into my trap" and now, 20 minutes later, he says that he had fell for me. It all went by so fast, I don't even know his last name and he tells me he's falling for me? He killed my best friend and not even three days later, he likes me? It didn't make any sense in my head.
I decided to myself that it was best to leave it alone, so I did. I took a deep breath, turned on some music and started driving to the coffee shop once again. I arrived about 45 minutes later and I parked my car. I got out of the car and walked inside. I was immediately greeted by an old friend of mine that worked there.
"Athena! I haven't seen you in ages." He walked out from behind the counter with a cup of coffee in his hand. He made his way to me and handed me the coffee. "I made your cup as soon as you texted me, what is it that you need to talk about?" He asked as he took off his apron and sat at a table with me.
'Well, my favorite witch, I need to talk about Aria and her power.' I said as I began to sip on my coffee.
"She's told me all about you and your multiple boyfriends, she also told me about how you got with her exes then tried to kill her." He looked at me as he curled his lips into an awkward look. "Then she said she tried to get revenge and you were saved by her ex." My jaw literally dropped and he tilted his head.
'She wants to turn everyone against me. I never got with any of her exes and I don't have any boyfriends.' I sighed and he nodded his head.
"Well if you do want one-." He jokingly smirked but I cut him off.
'No, no, and no.' I had my hand out, showing him to stop and he did. 'Everyone I even think about liking is automatically in danger, and I won't do that to you.' I then sat back in my seat.
"Ah, toxic exes, been there, done that. Anyway, I can help with your Aria problems, I always liked you better anyway." He sipped his coffee and crossed his legs.
'Thank you, Mattheo, really. So where do we start and what am I going to owe you when it's over?' I asked, lifting an eyebrow.
"I can take her power, she's very strong so I don't know how i'll use her power, but that's not your problem. And as for the other question, just come visit me more, and fill me in on all of the drama i'm missing." He shrugged his shoulders, he was barely asking for anything so I reached out my hand and he shook it.
