donghyuck opened the eyes, feeling the abscence of mark's warmth. he looked left and right, slightly panicking that mark's not there with him anymore and it was all just a dream. a note on the nightstand, adjacent to the bed caught his attention.
it was mark's handwriting, making donghyuck heave a sigh of relief. he reached out to the piece of paper, wondering where he went off. "i'm so sorry that i have to go, my first day of work starts today. i'll be coming back at 7 pm, so don't worry. i didn't have the time to prepare breakfast too, so you might have to make for yourself, sorry for that," it read.
donghyuck choked out a small laugh as he read the note. he pulled himself out of the bed, took all of the clothes on the floor and stepped into the shower, mind filled with images of yesterday's activities.
---
donghyuck collapsed on the bed, with nothing to do since his boyfriend, no, his main reason to live and be happy, left the place for a productive reason. the bowl of peanut butter in his hands rolled on to the bed, and much to his relief, nothing spilled off.
a sudden knock on the door caught his attention. he shimmied his way out of the bed, almost falling on the floor face down. he stumbled over to the doorway and unlocked the door, only to be greeted with an unexpected surprise.
on the other side, stood a smiling jungwoo, along with chenle and someone really tiny in height, whom he did not recognize.
"oh, h-hyung...! what brought you here all of a sudden?" donghyuck beamed at the four, letting them in.
"mark said you were probably very lonely right now, so he asked me to see how you are right now," jungwoo said, flopping on one of the couches. chenle, being the child he was, already started to explore the place as if he never saw this place before. the boy who he did not recognize, was sitting next to him, lost in his thoughts. "there's...another reason why i came here with these two."
"and...what might that be...hyung...?" donghyuck asked, his attention slowly swaying to the unknown boy.
"well, this is renjun," jungwoo said as he pulled the boy towards him, jolting the boy out of his thoughts as he frowned frustratingly at him. "mark's ex-crush. i had to make sure you two met before he would leave this place. you probably know him, remember that anniversary? that was for him."
donghyuck's eyes lit up in curiosity as he recalled doyoung talking about him in one of their conversations. "oh, h-hello...! i had heard a lot about you. i'm donghyuck, nice to meet you..."
a small smile took over renjun's expression as he started to speak in a feeble voice. "nice to meet you too. to be honest, i didn't notice you nor did i know that idiot finally started to have a relationship."
"oh it's alright, i was really scared to talk to anyone, until jungwoo-hyung brought me to his friends," donghyuck said as he sat adjacent to renjun, beaming at him as he did. renjun, on the other hand, pulled himself away from the boy, almost as if he was not interested to talk to him.
"so...i-i'm not that well-versed with him...we had been only in...a relationship for almost 2 weeks..." donghyuck started to talk, words struggling to come out of his mouth.
"so, why are you saying this to me?" renjun said rather harshly, not ready to have this conversation, which made donghyuck jolt in fear.
"i-i thought...you would help me...since you're the person...he once loved...before me..." donghyuck stuttered, on the verge of tears, to which renjun replied rather directly. "see, just because he loved me long time ago, doesn't mean i have any idea about him. ugh, i hate it when people only realize me just because of him..."
