"ahh! what the hell!!"

the distant screams of his neighbour woke donghyuck up from his light sleep. he woke up and leaned out to the door, to see mark running here and there with a charred spatula through the slit in his slightly open door.

donghyuck jumped out of his bed and washed his face, curious to see what he did. he walked towards his doorstep, and pushed the door to see mark screaming as he stumbled with a fire extinguisher towards a flaming frying pan.

he finally managed to shoot the damn thing and the flames subsided...along with a blindingly opaque fog that covered his face.

"what happened?" donghyuck asked him jokingly, looking at his condition.

"oh, uh, i...tried to...you know, fry some eggs...but i don't know what happened..." mark told, face red from stress and embarrassment, which made the younger giggle even more. "i didn't eat anything yesterday because i forgot to buy stuff, and the only thing i had were a pack of eggs..."

"if that's the case, couldn't you ask me to make you food?" donghyuck beamed, still giggling at the commotion that happened. "come over, i'll make you breakfast," he beckoned him towards his room.

"wait, what about..." mark trailed off, but donghyuck understood whom he was referring to.

"don't worry, that asshole is not here," donghyuck reassured him. "he went somewhere, and i'm pretty sure he'll come back really late and drunk."

mark was surprised that donghyuck finally started to have courage to speak against sejun, and that too without a shake in his voice. he almost never heard him say anything without stammering.

---

the smell of bacon and eggs filled the room as mark waited (im)patiently for his breakfast to come. skipping dinner was a really stupid move; he almost fainted when he tried to wake up.

within a few moments, donghyuck came out of the kitchen, carrying a plate. he sat next to mark as he almost threw the plate like if it was a frisbee. "you shouldn't have tied those bandages that tight, ya know? it was quite hard for me to hold anything."

mark, on the other hand, was already helping himself with the dish. "oh, sho shorry..." he apologized as his mouth was filled.

the younger chuckled a bit louder than he used to, at the older's antics. he finished the meal in an instant, blatantly showing that he was really hungry.

a knock on the door caught donghyuck's attention. he instantly started to panic as he ran to the door. "hide somewhere, mark!" he yelled at the black haired man, scared that this was sejun. mark hid behind a room, confused on why should he do such a thing.

donghyuck opened the door, to see a man he was really familiar with, but is not sejun, to his relief.

"oh, s-subin! why...are you here...?" he stammered to the man in front of him. subin was sejun's best friend, and unlike him, he was not an asshole. he doesn't come into sejun's place often, especially since sejun is out for most of the day.

"oh, i was just wondering how you and sejun are doing," he beamed. "you see, i 'm moving out of here, i have to go back to seoul in a week, and i haven't seen you or junnie in ages."

"me and junnie are doing...fine," donghyuck lied as he let him in. "he's out for the day, so i'm just alone here. i'll tell junnie that you came to visit."

"oh alright, i'll call him then- wait, who is that...?" subin asked as he noticed a figure behind the bedroom. mark realized he was caught, yet he tried to stand still but ended up knocking over a box nearby.

donghyuck noticed mark's silhouette moving towards the room, making more noise as he did. sejun should not know about mark, and there was a possibility that subin could ask sejun on who he is if he knew mark.

and that can mean sejun locking him up in his room because he'll get jealous of mark.

"oh, that's n-nothing, don't worry!" he said as he subtly pushed subin out of the room. "a-anyways...it's been so long since you saw s-sejun, you should probably go right now..."

subin was confused and slightly suspicious, but decided to leave as he wanted to meet sejun before he left this place for good. he walked out the doorway, and after making sure he disappeared into the hallway's turn, donghyuck slammed the door while breathing out a sigh of relief.

"please...just don't hide over there. next time i tell you to hide...the attic's the best place for that. no one except for me goes there," he facepalmed as he saw mark stumble out of the room.

---

"so, there was someone in there..." subin frowned as he heard the commotion going inside the room. "why did he hide him from seeing me...? there's something wrong. i have to ask sejun, or else, who knows what donghyuck would do..."
