mark woke up to another dawn, and since he was almost late yesterday, he made sure to never make that mistake again and cranked up his alarm up way too early. he slowly lifted his hands off of donghyuck's waist and pulled himself out of bed silently, not trying to wake him up.
after refreshing himself, he made a makeshift breakfast of 2 pieces of bread with peanut butter slapped in the middle, while looking at the chaotic group chat of his friends. it was pretty much chaotic and he barely participates in it these days, since he devoted most of his time to taking care of his boyfriend.
he packed all of his stuff onto his bag including his laptop, while still keeping an eye on the adorable little brunette sleeping on his bed. his hair was messy, but his face manifested a calm expression, along with a small smile lining his lips.
mark walked to the bed, leaned over and gave him a quick yet gentle kiss on his lips and then took his stuff for his second day of work. he made sure to slowly pull the door open as the hinges could still make noise if not careful. after locking the door with a small thud, he stomped over in the hallways, joyfully walking out of the place.

jaehyun wandered the cul-de-sac as it was his daily routine, but this time, he was trying to find that saviour who saved his fiance's life. his eyes scanned the passers-by, leaving no stone unturned, when the familiar messy black hair on the other side of the street caught his attention.
he immediately started to speedwalk to the man as he cried out, "excuse me...! didn't we met yesterday?"
mark turned his head to see yesterday's victim's fiance coming towards him. he beamed at the man as he stopped in his tracks, allowing him to catch up with him.
"i'm so sorry, i was waiting for you to come," jaehyun said with a tinge of seriousness. "if you have a minute, can we talk in my place? please?"
mark was confused yet he nodded in affirmation to the idea. it was too early for his work anyways, and besides, he wished to see if the victim's condition is alright. "uh, sure..."
---
mark looked in awe at the house he just entered. soft lights dangled from the ceiling, giving the hallway a slight glow. the place was uncannily quiet, each of their steps reverberating into a diminishing cacophony of sounds. jaehyun, who was in the front, opened a wooden door and switched on the lights, revealing his napping fiance.
"yongie, wake up baby," he whispered softly to the sleeping man, who immediately opened his eyes after that. he looked over to him before realizing an other person was in their house. a small welcome smile took over his facial features as he beckoned him to sit adjacent to him.
"i sent him to find you..." he trailed off as he silently winced in pain when he accidentally moved his broken arm. "thank you so much...for saving me..."
mark beamed wholesomely at the man as he gently placed a hand on his working arm. "you're more than welcome. i really get triggered when assholes start using violence on other innocent people. i don't want that to happen...especially since the love of my life has suffered like that..."
mark realized he went on a complete rant on a pair of strangers and immediately regretted his decision. "oh, sorry, i went off on a tangent..."
"oh, it's alright," he said as he let out a slight chuckle. "the love of your life is really lucky to get someone like you. if you care for a complete stranger like this...i don't even have to imagine how much you love them."
"well, let's not be strangers then," mark said. "i'm minhyung, but you can call me mark."
"i'm taeyong, and this is jaehyun," the victim said as he beckoned to jaehyun. "we moved in here since this was my home and he was not happy back in seoul."
