The Beast and His Kitten (Ushijima x Hinata)

Love is a Promise

"Your face is troubled, Wakatoshi-kun.." Tendou asks his bestfriend, wondering.

"My face?"

"Yes! Looks like you're in a bad mood today"

When his bestfriend not answering, Tendou continues "Is it about Karasuno's chibi-chan?"

"Shoyo said he'll be going for training camp in Tokyo for a week."

"And what exactly troubles you then? Isn't it good for him to have more training?" Tendou grins.

"Yeah i guess you're right." Ushijima comments. But that's not actually the case. In terms of volleyball, Ushijima is one supportive boyfriend for Hinata as they always motivate each other. However the Shiratorizawa's captain have other concerns if Hinata is away. And Tokyo is far. And he can't see his lover for a week.

Those people better keep their hands off from touching what's mine.

"Wakatoshi-kuuunn.." Tendou pats his broad shoulder. "You should see it yourself, you're making that face again!"

"Oh, sorry. Let's go, Tendou." Ushijima said beckoning his bestfriend to go to the gym.

Really, the mere thought of someone might flirt with Hinata could irritates him so much.

"You're smiling like an idiot!" Kageyama scowling at his bestfriend who's now typing on his phone. "You better keep the phone down before coach snatch it!"

"Just a minute! Sheeshh.. Kageyama, we're about to sleep anyway!"

Kageyama knows exactly who could have made Hinata grinning like a total fool. "Then just tell him you're about to sleep already, will you?"

"I know. I'm about to type it." Hinata's eyes never leave his phone screen.

As Hinata's bestfriend, Kageyama was the first person who knew about Ushijima and Hinata relationship. He's not the type to judge or pry into someone's personal life, if Hinata is happy then all good. However, sometimes Kageyama still wonders how these two who are so different in many ways, unless volleyball freak like him also, could build a relationship together, moreover a romantic one.

"Don't you think Ushijima is kind of scary? I always think he might be the scariest volleyball player i've ever met." Kageyama mutters.

Hinata lays down on the smooth futon, and turn his head to his teammate. "Yeah.. i guess he could be scary sometimes." He chuckles.

"I believe if Ushijima is here he would kill everyone who plays around with you today with his looks." Kageyama pull his blanket, covering himself from the cold night.

Hinata closes his eyes momentarily. "I'm sure he would."

There's a moment of silence. And when Kageyama thought that Hinata already fall asleep, Hinata voice out.

"I think i'm head over heels about him, Kageyama."

Kageyama merely staring blankly up to the ceiling, not saying anything just listen to Hinata.

"You see. Toshi will graduate soon in just few weeks. And he will go to Tokyo for college.."Hinata opens his eyes and look at the setter's direction. "When i thought about our long distance, that i won't be able to see him as often as i do now, sometimes that makes me sad..."

Kageyama looks into Hinata's eyes. And he knows right away that his bestfriend is in love. Deeply in love.

The setter closes his eyes, ready to sleep. "You worry too much. Go to sleep already." He turns his back to the other side.
