He groaned as he started waking up again, moving a hand to his head. He made a note to himself about not going into random portals without a pillow, slowly sitting up. He looked down to where he was. He was on top of his Gaster blaster, the blaster floating over the ground.
"Blasty?..." The skeleton grew confused, trying to remember what has happened. He remembered going into the closet, the darkness, and the fall-
Right, he got Blasty to help him and cushion his fall. He patted the blaster, Blasty making a content noise as they landed on the ground, Sans quickly getting down. His clothes had returned to his normal attire, Sans sighing in relief. He looked around the area, he was on a cliff, the rest of the area dark and hidden. He recognized this area, he always came here when he was bored. He pets the blaster for a bit before concealing him, walking down the path to the castle. He smiled when he saw it in the distance, picking up his pace. He stopped at the waterfall, looking down at the long fall before jumping in the water, as he did many times before. He fell down and down, the water slowing his fall before he landed safely at the bottom. He ran the rest of the way, a grin on his face when he got back home.
"Paps! Ralsei! I'm here!" He yelled when he went inside the castle. Barely anytime has passed before Papyrus burst the door open, a worried yet relieved look on his face, Ralsei right behind him.
"SANS, YOU'RE OK!" The taller skeleton picked up his brother and hugged him tightly. "I WAS WORRIED SICK!"
"Where have you been?!" Ralsei called out, Sans hugging his brother back.
"It's a long story- but I went to the Fountain-" He pats Papyrus' back, trying to signal him to put him down. Papyrus did, his face filled with concern still.
"And? What happened?! Did something pop up on the way back?" Papyrus kept asking questions, his hands-on Sans' shoulders.
"No, guys, I went through it- the Fountain, I was-"
"You WHAT?!" Ralsei cut off, seeming more panicked than Papyrus now. Sans grew nervous at their increasing concern.
"I'm fine, really! Shaken up, but I'm ok-"
"You could have died, Sans! No one knows what happens when you go through a fountain!"
"Well I do now, and we don't die! Ralsei, the Lightner Realm- We can go to it-" Sans had a huge grin, Ralsei going quiet while Papyrus' sockets widen before he forms his own smile, excited now.
"W-We can? You've been there?! What was it like?" Papyrus spoke excitedly. Sans chuckled and answered as many questions as he could in detail. He mentioned meeting Toriel, the sun, the town he woke up in, Papyrus intently listening in awe. Ralsei on the other hand still didn't seem glad. Rather, he seemed nervous. Sans turned to him, a large smile on his face before noticing his expression.
"Ralsei? You alright?"
"You weren't in the Lightner Realm. There's no way, Darkneners can't be in the Light World, and you know that!" And he was right, they were always taught that Darkeners can't be in the Lightner Realm or else they'd be inanimate, from what the skeletons' father told them. But it was so real...
"I know what I saw, there's no way it couldn't be!"
"What if it wasn't real? What if it was some sort of dream?- What if it was something caused by The Roaring?!"
"Why does the Roaring make me want to go to the Lightener World?" He narrowed his eyes a bit, trying to figure out Ralsei's thoughts.
"I-I don't know, maybe to make us want more Dark Fountains? To bring them out?"
"Ralsei, you aren't making sense. The Roaring only comes if there are too many dark fountains, they can't pop up, not this soon. And besides, if we could go through the second fountain to the Light World, then we can do the same with the first! Once we close it-"
"Just- no, you aren't going back, no matter the fountain." Ralsei spoke sternly, looking down.
"...What?" Sans was slowly starting to feel mad, rage- there was no reason they couldn't if they can't get hurt. "There's a chance to see the sun for once and you just go on to say I can't?! What's going on?!" He was raising his voice, Papyrus worriedly grabbing his shoulder.
"Sans, calm down, maybe he's right on this-" Sans pulled away from Papyrus suddenly, pushing him off.
"You weren't there! Darkeners can go up there, if you're so worried we can find the Lighteners from the legend sooner with this!"
"But we can't-" Ralsei said, holding on to Papyrus now. "Darkeners can't be in the Lightener Realm. What you saw wasn't real." Sans was starting to shake, looking up at Papyrus, mentally hoping for some sort of support.
"...He's right Brother...maybe we should get you to bed?" Papyrus looked at him sadly, Sans staring at the two before starting to back up.
"...Then I guess I'm not a Darkener. I know what I saw." He glared before running up through the door and up to his room, shutting the door behind him. He was starting to shake, sliding down to the floor as he took deep breaths. It was real, he thought. I know it was.
