There were some soft knocks in Sans's room, Sans looking up a bit towards the door. He was hugging Blasty, the blaster snuggled up next to him. Sans was quiet for a bit before a voice spoke from behind the door.
"Sans?.. Can we talk?" Papyrus' voice asked in a soft tone.
"...Yeah, sure, come in." Sans stayed curled up as Papyrus walked into the room. He had a couple of drinks in his hand, setting one down next to Sans as he himself sat down.
"I brought you a drink, I thought you might like it..." Sans nodded a bit and let go of Blasty to pick up the drink. The mug was warm, with the sweet smell of chocolate coming out of the brown liquid. Sans quietly went to drink a bit, smiling at the taste.
"Thanks, Paps..." He leaned a bit on his brother as he drank, Papyrus smiling as he drank his own mug.
"You're welcome...are you feeling better?"
"Yeah, I am now..." He nodded a bit, Blasty now nuzzling Papyrus' available hand. Papyrus giggled a bit as he patted the blaster's skull, Blasty having a smile on their face as they started to purr.
"...Sans, are you sure that what you saw was really real? Ralsei brought up some good points..." He looked away from his brother, nervous that he'd make him upset again.
"I promise you Paps, I know it is... why would I pop up on the other side of the Dark World if I wasn't?"
"I guess... still...don't you think it may be a bit... too good?" He curled up a bit and Sans looked up at him. "I mean, I believed it, you know, but...you're the only Darkener that ever went up there...we don't know what could happen to me and Ralsei if we were up there."
"...We're the only Darkeners here. Dad barely talked about the Light World, and what he said barely gave us anything to imagine what it would look like. How could we know for sure that Darkeners couldn't go up there?"
"...You do have a point...it's probably best to be wary though-" Papyrus started before Sans cut him off.
"I was when I first got there. You'd gotta believe me..."
"...I never said I didn't." Papyrus stayed silent after that, and so did Sans. The two brothers quietly drank the rest of their drinks, Blasty whining a bit at the prologue silence.
"I have never seen Ralsei that upset before..." Papyrus said, breaking the silence. Sans nodded a bit in response.
"Yeah...He always wondered about the Light World too, didn't he?" Sans asked, looking back up at Papyrus. "I don't get it..."
"He's concerned, is all...we only have each other..." Papyrus said, putting his mug down and wrapping his arm around Sans. "...I don't know what I'd do if I lost you..."
Sans stared up at his brother, before hugging the skeleton. "...Me neither... I never thought of that chance." The two fell into quiet again, just hugging each other. Sans started having second thoughts about the world he visited. Was it really safe? Will they be ok if they went? What if going to the Light world was something only he could have done? He became lost in his thoughts, that he almost missed what his brother said.
"I'll be coming with you next time!" Papyrus said as Sans shot his head back up to look at him, in shock.
"I'm sorry?-"
"I'll come with you if you go back." He said confidently, a grin on his face. "Then we can know for sure that we can go!"
"But what about literally everything you just said? What if you get hurt?"
"That didn't stop you from going the first time...besides, you seemed like you were determined to go back earlier. If you're going to insist on going then I'll take the chance with you... if anything happens we'll help each other out, won't we?"
For a moment, Sans just stared at his brother, before he pulled him into a tight hug.
"...We could go to the fountain near here, if it brings us to the same spot in the Lightener World.." Sans mumbled, Papyrus giving a quick nod.
"That's a good idea...if anything, we'll be there for each other."
"Yeah, that's right..." Sans smiled as some of his fears started to fade. A chance to show his family what he saw? It was a nice thought.
