Tahny

I think the only thing that made this worse was the fact he not only blocked my number, he blocked every social media that we had each other on. Maybe it's my fault, I stupidly called him and had him make a trip over here just to fuck me. I think it's for the best, Lord knows if I woke up beside him that we'd be in a relationship again. That was over a week ago and I haven't heard from him since. I think about telling Olivia but I do not wanna hear the mouth full she'll have to say about what went down. I've tried calling him, which is so stupid but it happened, multiple times to be exact. Mostly late at night when I'm thinking about him the most and what we used to be. Then my mind trails to the danger that followed him around on his shoulders and how I wouldn't be able to live a carefree life in those conditions.

Macy and I are sitting in her bedroom in silence while typing away on our computers. We've sent in a total of ten applications for all of us while Yasmine and Olivia have been working on the case we've been able to make out of this situation. "Think we'll get hired by next week? We've got the degrees, we've got the experience and you have more than enough evidence that you're good at what you do. I don't think they have a reason to say no to any of our applications. The only thing is most of these shops aren't looking for four different girls to hire." I nodded in agreement to her last statement. It's doubtful that a shop will take in four girls at once, especially if they are a small business who can't afford that many new employees at once. "I think we should go outside of our towns limits. It may be a longer drive but there is way more than these small shops around us, bigger ones with more stations to fill. Like that place about a town over, their damn near a hotel sized salon and they just opened. Meaning we could show up and try to get a job. Plus a place that size will want people with a lot of experience and they will most likely be charging about $90 a set. That means we get paid more. I think it's worth the trouble of that drive and shit." Macy let my words sink in as she scrolled away at her computer, her eyebrows creased as she thought about what I was saying. "What's the name of it?"

Yasmine

"Actually, this is her now, give me a second please?"

I stand up, Olivia following as we stepped out the room and put Macy on speaker. "What's up baby?" I asked when I slid the screen to answer. "Hey baby, so me and Tahny been talking and we think that's it's best if we go out of this town for work. She was telling me that there's this big ass salon opening about a town over and they are more likely to be looking for four experienced employees than anywhere in our limits." I looked over at Olivia, her face looking the same as mine, confused. "So you want us to move?" Tahny's voice then came over the phone. "No, we just drive back and forth. It's about a 15 to 20 minute drive away and they agreed to meet all of us Monday."

"So you contacted them before contacting us, what if we said no." Tahny let out a sigh, probably irritated with my answer. "You gon say no to the best opportunity we will ever have? That's dumb on your part." Olivia shook her head to herself before speaking, "we're not saying no but we gotta get back to the meeting so we'll see yall in about an hour." I hung up the phone before we walked back into the meeting.

We sat across from Mindy, Sarah and Caroline. Mindy said because this isn't exactly the strongest of cases, she got two more of her best lawyers in her firm to help on building this case. "Was everything okay?" Sarah asked while sliding a document across the table to Olivia. She took it, opening the manila folder. "Yes everything's fine, should we go on with what we were talking about?" Mindy nodded before pointing at the bottom of the first page that Olivia opened the folder to. "Here's the terms and conditions of our services. Since I owe your family Olivia, my price is 100% free but the service for my girls over here isn't. They will contact you after the meeting and discuss the details of their prices. The total shouldn't be anything outrageous but it is a bit pricey, especially since they charge by the hour and not the case." Olivia blew a slight breath, causing me to chuckle as Mindy flipped the first page and showed the next one. This is all of the information that we gathered since you first contacted me. So far we haven't really found any cases like this so we don't know what to expect as the results, but we do promise to use all we have and make sure you get the money you're owed for that shop. I know how much stress that must have been on all of you so we'll accommodate for that with services."

Olivia looked over at me, a satisfied smile showing on my lips. "I think we got this girl. There isn't much we can do but if we pay them we can have this case in our hands and be compensated for the lose all four of us was hit with." I lightly shake her arm, causing her to smile softly and pull me into a side hug. "We gonna get our money and get our own shop once again."

It took another 45 minutes to get the payment plans finalized and our next few meetings scheduled for us. As we walked to my car, Olivia stretched and scratched at her head. "Honestly, I just want this shit to be over with and fast forward to a bigger and better shop than what we had." I nodded in agreement, unlocking the doors and climbing in the vehicle. "Maybe we should build a time travel machine, that would be quicker than going through this case." Olivia let out a laugh, turning on the radio as I started driving over to Macy's place.

Macy

"Okay, okay that's perfect. Thank you so much, we'll see you then!" Tahny says excitingly before getting up and jumping on the bed. My laptop and binder bounce with her, as well as my body. I laugh as I fall over, gripping my computer and laughing at her. "Girl what the fuck are you doing?" I say between laughter, making Tahny seem to jump even harder. "I swear if you break my bed I'm breaking your nose." Just then Olivia walks in, carrying two bags of Chick-Fil-a while Yasmine follows her in with a drink holder and a bottle of liquor. "Who's breaking who's nose?" Yasmine asks while placing the drink carrier down and walking to my mini fridge to put the liquor bottle away. I get up and jog to her, jumping up and smiling as she catches me. "Tahny will have a broken nose if I have a broken bed." Tahny laughs as she jumps down to Olivia, peeking a look into the bags she was carrying. Yasmine walks me over to the bed, sitting down with me in her lap as Tahny looks through the contents and pulls out handfuls of chicken sandwich's.

"What were you so happy about?" I ask while grabbing a spicy sandwich and handing a regular one to Yasmine. "So I called back the people from the salon because they said to contact them again to confirm the interview date. Well I told her how we all came from working in the same shop and our situation with the fire and she just went on and on about how sorry she was for our loss. Then she said that since we know each other and trust each other, we can have our interview all together and will more than likely be hired before starting the following week at the grand opening.." Yasmine pumped her fist in the air, imitating a barking noise before Olivia started with her. Tahny lifted her Chick-Fil-A cup before starting with them, me joining soon after. "Yall are so weird", I say while taking a bite out of my sandwich.
