Vinespirit

Chapter 3

Vinespirit was heading up the rise, and she called for Blu. The puppy came bounding over. "Yes yes yes?" He darted around Vinespirits legs, The ivy encircling her legs almost scratching him. "Im going to look for food, will you stay here?" she pushed Blu to a halt, wondering how he wasnt exhausted yet. "Yes ma'am!" he stopped for a second, and stooped to a sitting position. He raised his head up confidently. "If any scary monsters come here, ill protect the land!" Blu lowered down more into a crouch, his tail wagged alot, it looked like a blur. Vinespirit chuckled, "I'll be off now." Her green pelt disappeared into the darker green trees.

Vinespirit was padding to the area where she had left Blu, and dropped the scavenged pieces of meat she had salvaged from nearby towns. "Blu?" She called, noticing the grey blur was nowhere to be seen. Her heart started racing, what if Blu was hurt? Or starving? Blu was small, he couldnt fight off predators. Vinespirit slowly calmed down, and started sniffing the area. She found Blu's scent and another animals scent. She saw faint pawmarks, they were a muddy brown. Vinespirit tried to think, what was the animals scent close to? She then realized, a fox had taken Blu! She started to run across the plain, the tracks leading her to a much darker, lonely area. Pine trees were scattered about, and in front of her was a small cave carved into the mountain infront of the pine trees. Vinespirit approached the den, there were small items and - Blus fur! The grey tuft had been snagged on a small, young sapling. She cautiously entered the den, her vines unraveled from her paws, positioned like snakes on her back. As she continued, the cave split into two tunnels. She had to make a choice. She sniffed the two entrances, the right one seemed more believable. Small tufts of dirty blue fur were laid on the ground. The foxes scent mingled with it. She continued down the path, and spotted Blu and the fox. The fox had its back towards her, its plumed tail slowly waving in delight.
